Not to sound like some rabid MMA bro, but if the shot that Conor hurt Dustin with in the first round knocked him out everyone would be talking about how this is the best ever version of Conor and how he got in Dustin's head. The narratives that come about after a fight are usually just Armchair Psychology, I wouldn't give them much weight. Dustin just a great fighter and he fought a better fight.

conor looked super confident throughout the week tbh, dustin looked very nervous during the whole build up and only really showed his confidence on fight night

Conors first round looked pretty good, but nobody expected Dustin to be so fast. His leg kicks where very good. Conor has a wide stance which gives him lot of reach in his arms, so attack that forward leg and you just ruined his fighting style. Conor could've won this fight if he attacked Dustin's legs more, I feel. Because Conor's striking game is truly unmatched. Overall not a good fight, but if there ever will be a rematch, I think it might be one of the best brawls in ufc history.

A plumber vs a child prodigy who wrestled bears as a kid. I love Conor and Khabib but anything short of perfection for Khabib would of been a dissapointment. Appreciate them for who they are, Conor's up bringing tells you he should not be where he is today and Khabib is exactly where he should be. Respect to both because exceeding expectations and living up to expectations are both extremely tough things to achieve.

Conor was piecing Dustin up until Dustin started going for the leg kicks and taking away Conors lead hand. Dustin just had a better game plan. I argue that Connor looked better than he ever has until the 2nd round.
