He's getting old and so he's athleticism and cognition is on the decline. He can't rely on that any more. He has to work on power and speed. Precision and timing is a prime youngbucks asset. I see a 20s KO against Usman.

@@andressoto739 Negative, 34 is old but not “too old”. He said it himself before his 2nd fight with Dustin he’s here now for highlight reels. He fell in love with his hands, forgetting that his movement + mix ups was what created the space for that left hand to land. His movement was what made his distance management incredible. With the boxing stance everyone knows he’s heavy on the front foot just looking for the left, a lot easier to prepare for than the Connor that was throwing capoeira kicks and bouncing in and out of range

I loved McGregor coming up, really wish and hope he’d go back to his old loose karate style. He was amazing at judging the distance and people struggled to deal with him. His striking still looks great but the footwork just isn’t the same anymore.

His style was very similar in the Dustin 3rd fight...But he was just missing a step. Timing was slightly off and not quite as fluent.

Because he realized in the Floyd fight he doesn't sit down and connect to the floor in his punches like a boxer does, and IN a boxing-context he has no power. So he's been working only on that ever since... but lo and behold it's useless in MMA to move/punch like you're in a boxing match in 10 oz gloves

@@Pewdzqaq I also think his reflexes were negatively affected by the time off, and probably by the 10 round brain-scrambling he received from Mayweather. Boxing matches will end your career in a whole different way than MMA

Actually.. these coaches are his coaches from Crumlin Boxing club :) Never left them. Owen Roddy runs a gym, John runs a gym.. these guys are all at one gym and they are all boxing coaches

He had a lot of limitations in the first but had a lot of fight in him still kinda do.His game was making his opponents uncomfortable mentally so they hesitate.Now it's gone.Dont have a good ground game too

Honestly, this pad-shield he keeps working isn't really necessary for MMA, and for the most part neither is heavy bag work in general (for punches). With 4 oz gloves, natural power will generally get the job done anyway- it need not be enhanced- and he'd be better served working on precision and timing. Then again, what the hell do I know

Loved Mcgreggors style, pre Mayweather. But If he comes back with that hands close boxing style, stiff and hittable, over leaning weight on front foot, then he’s fooooked. Tends to happen when you start lifting heavy. You slow down because you don't train your twitch muscle fibers as often . Instead you are training your muscles for slow controlled movements.
