Hey Philippe! Thank you for the comment - I’m curious, what is the off-road / overlanding culture like where you are based in France? My wife and I spent some time in northern France and it’s absolutely spectacular. I’m curious if there are many off-road trails that you know of?
@biloud1113 жыл бұрын
@@4XTRAIL hello, the south of France is not bad too, you have to come back to visit it! In France, the overland community is not very large but since the Covid episode, there has been an anguish for outdoor activities.Unfortunately the offroad is not very well seen here, thank you ecologists. Very often if the site is classified, here it is forbidden to vehicles. There is little offroad road. it's the opposite of your home, with landscaped spaces and trails like Moab, Rubicon etc... We are lucky, we live in the South, near Spain and Andorra and there yes we are having a good time. They are much more open to motor sports.The mountainous landscapes are magnificent and there are some deserts without dunes and sand. If you want big relief, sand and the big dune, you have to go to North Africa, like Morocco. And if possible during a rally raid event in preparation for the Dakar. I hope I answered your questions ;)

My son had his first tip over in his car seat on lower woodpecker in our 4 runner at that age, now it is one of his earliest memories as a now grown man. For months after he said " do not roll over daddy" whemever I put him in his car seat.

Such a good reminder on the importance of seatbelts and car seats. Glad you guys were okay and had a story to tell out of it! I haven’t run Woodpecker yet, will probably go solo on that one - it sounds like some fun obstacles.

Lower woodpecker was more of a play area otw to woodpecker. That was 20 years ago in my 85 4runner. Now I am in the midwest building my 1st jk

I was going ask you about this trip. Years ago a friend of mine and I tried a mountain bike trip from Prescott to Crown King to spend the night and then head down the mountain to Cordes Junction. My dad was going to pick us up with his pickup truck. About ten miles out we got hit by the monsoon deluge. Our biggest danger was the rivers of water crossing the Old Senator highway. The road or trail became impassable. I live in Missouri but have a business in Prescott. You are missed back hear.

We did that by accident, around 2006, in a T-100 4x, LONG wheel base, full size truck. AT NIGHT. Parts of it I had to drive because it was sheer drop off. I believe it took us 6 hours. it was horrifying.

The trail is a cluster now with all the side by sides they come down on the trail 10-20 of them get tangled up in the switch backs was in a group of 100 jeeps and took 4 hours to untangle the mess not counting all the other normal traffic we stopped going back in 2018 last time. We go to Sunflower mine trail, hackberry also less people over there. I have done it a few times at night in the summer wasn't bad in August less idiots on the trail.
@4XTRAIL2 жыл бұрын
Wow, that’s a lot of Jeeps! We didn’t pass many people on this particular day but I’m sure it can get very crowded. Will have to check out the other trails you mentioned. Thanks for watching!

Come around July 10-20th feel what the heat is like been here for 40 years most leave after few summers. 4 wheeling used to be nice now with 1000's of Side by Sides they tore up the desert vandalized lot of historic sites burned them down spray painted them. They fly pass you going 60-70 mph on dirt roads speed limit is 25 mph most of the county dirt roads where they like to ge their turbo RZR going really fast until they go head on with someone.

@@Mike-01234 yea I'm not a fan of those things. We love Az but I admit we haven't been in the summer. At this point I just want to move west. People really suck. I'm amazed at what slobs and A holes people can be. Very sad

Amazing video. And really really cool you did this with your dad and son! Like I said new jeep owner your jeep is exactly what I’m Looking to make mine but I won’t be doing this level if any of off-roading maybe some beach. Can you tell me a couple things. What Wheels and tires I know they are 37” Lift? Size? And fenders…. Love that look of wheels sticking out so aggressive. But is that legal or do you have any issues with inspection passing etc? Thanks im about to order that bumper now I have been looking at it but after seeing your video I’m going to pull the trigger
@4XTRAIL3 жыл бұрын
For sure! They are 37x12.5r17 Milestar Patagonia MTs on 17x9 Procomp Series 69 wheels. I’m running a 3.5” lift (JKS coils, Teraflex 9550 shocks, Teraflex Alpine IR control arms, etc). Those are the factory fenders that I trimmed with a dremel! Never any issues with inspection or anything like that on the fenders. Here’s a video on what you need for 37s where I go into a little more detail in case it’s helpful! kzbin.info/www/bejne/foDRYWSEf51oeZo

@@4XTRAIL are these pro comps good to throw on tires and not need spacers? I know you have the rock trix now and spoke fondly of the specs and that you didn’t need any adapters/spacers. Would they be the same on the pro comp? What are your thoughts on the black rhino raze wheels. I think The smallest is 20” not sure if the offset but they are concave. Wonder how they would look in 35” or 37” Do you think the 17” would look just as good on a 35” vs 37”? I just do not want to spend unnecessary money on suspensions extras if I won’t be doing aggressive rock climbing etc. I might just do some off road easy trails though.
