I was literally just editing my Xenagos deck, this is perfect. I like getting alot of other people's opinion about builds. Edit: I don't think it was mentioned but a good inclusion would be strionic resonator. Its an artifact that costs 2 and 2 to activate and it copies triggered abilities. So whenever you enter combat you get two xenagos triggers or some other triggered ability like etbs you get that extra value.

Putrefax is something I would suggest for any Xenegos deck. It's a literal "target player loses the game" when it's played with Xenegos out if they can't respond to it.

Something you wouldn't really think about is Spellbinder+Savage Beating. The Spellbinder exiles Savage Beating, then, when you deal combat damage with the equipped creature, you can cast Savage Beating[which still works cause it's happening during combat]. Something else interesting to think about in an Azorius deck, is Spellbinder+Teferi's Protection. Have a small unblockable creature, equip it, and bam, you and everything you own phase out, essentially meaning people can only interact with you when it's your turn[play Grand Abolisher and now they barely have anything]

My favorite thing to do with Xenagos is to turn normally glass cannons into juggernauts. For example, there are plenty of red elementals that have high power, one toughness, and something like trample. With creatures like that, opponents aren’t always concerned since all they would need to do is block with at least one creature and be done with it. But turning a 7/1 into a 14/8 makes things a lot more scary since there’s an even greater chance of that same creature surviving and swinging again.

I would love to see more commander decks with the other gods of Theros, Mogis and Athreos especially or maybe even a deck with both of them (so a Mardu deck) with the recurring theme of constantly putting your opponent in situations where they have to choose between a bad option and a worse option.

Have you ever considered building a commander for flavor reasons ? I really like the Abzan clan and wanted to make an Abzan themed deck with Daghatar leading it but it just felt like playing a really weak Ghave. Ended up scrapping it and using the pieces for Reyhan/Ravos.

Another cool pair of enchantments is Impromptu raid from shadowmoor and killer instinct, from Guildpact. Both allow you to cheat fatties from the top of your library. While obviously inferior to sneak attack, they seem like they are a lot of fun!

So I REALLY wanna build Xenagod, but I also REALLY wanna build Zacama. That depends on how you feel about EDH as a multiplayer game vs how you feel about it as a competitive format. Mana rocks and fast mana like Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Sol Ring, Ancient Tomb, the Moxes, and others make the format completely imbalanced. It's completely possible to eliminate 4 people in the first 2 or 3 turns with the right combination of rocks and spells. Without that access to raw power though, many decks would probably turn to green to satisfy the need for lands in order to keep up with big spells and stompy early game creatures. The rocks may cause a great rift of imbalance in the format by generating insane advantage on any turn, but without them it is possible that many decks wouldn't survive in casual games. I don't think Sol Ring will ever be banned, mostly because it still makes money for WOTC, but it definitely should be at least considered ban worthy. Good card is good, and as long as Duel Commander has a separate banlist I think the rocks will always have a home in multiplayer EDH.

Guy Maor Sylvan Primordial is banned for being "unfun" instead of being powerful. Same with Primeval Titan- both cards grant an absurd advantage for someone that is able to abuse their abilities and everyone knows that EDH is 90% value and 2 for ones which makes ETBs and cast triggers the most powerful cards in the format. That's also why Emrakul is banned, but she is also just wayyy too powerful to allow versatile game play. But that aside, fast mana is what allows these cards to be so busted. Without that turn one Sol Ring into a Mana Vault, you wouldn't have a turn 2 Primeval Titan with an Amulet of Vigor that ramps you ahead by 7 mana on turn two if that makes sense.

Guy Maor the game is not politics and that is where your logic is flawed. The game itself may allow for a political climate, but not everyone enjoys politics. Some people are more aggressive and prefer a fast win, others are more oppressive and want to cause suffering amongst players. The artifacts you mentioned are a part of a control archetype that makes several decks work properly, but they are easy to get rid of with the right equipment in a toolbox. I agree they are not fun to play against, but having tapped lands is not the same as having none at all. Sol Ring is simply the most famous version of fast mana, but if WotC wanted to ban any of the fast rocks like Mana Vault or Crypt, they would first be forced to look in Sol Ring's direction simply because it is also banned in 1v1 competitive commander. Banning it across the board does not outright ruin multiplayer EDH in any way, but it would also make cards like Exploration and Burgeoning go up in value or even make them more powerful. Don't get me wrong, I like ramping into enormous stuff- it is my desired playstyle. But after several lengthy discussions with a few judges and friends at both my LGS and other stores in the areas around me, the general consensus is unanimous that Sol Ring ought to be banned. It is simply too powerful on turn one, by making your turn 2 into a turn 4 on average. That's pretty nasty, and easily sets up games to sway into your favor. Also, I just want to point out I'm not trying to piss you off or start any kind of fight or anything. I see the point you are making, but I don't work for Wizards and I can't justify anything they've done except for by the reasons they gave to the public when it happened. Sylvan Primordial was considered oppressive and unfun in a multiplayer format by Wizards of the Coast when they banned him initially. Winter Orb does suck, but between 3 people, someone should always have a way to interact with it and disrupt the person controlling the Orb. Also it should be noted that decks running Winter Orb are only more powerful with a Sol Ring, because they rarely need a mana source that produces colored mana. My friend once played Kozilek as a competitive multiplayer commander, and then he proceeded to cast Kozilek on turn 2 there games in a night. Every time he was able to push that hard he had a turn 1 Sol Ring. The rest of the cards rarely mattered except for Metal Worker (which deserves to be rebanned). Lastly, Sol Ring by itself enables more turn 1 plays than any other card in the entire format (because it is more affordable than a Mana Crypt or a Mana Vault) and when working in tandem with those other rocks it can push out mana at a super busted rate. The point is, no matter which format you play, if you can accelerate your mana production by 2 or more turns without tapping most if not all of your mana to do so in the first 2 turns of the game, you are probably going to win that game. Your odds of winning increase monumentally, and anyone who can't catch up with you is left bargaining with other players for survival which is often not fun for many people. It is game breaking is all I'm saying.
