In this game we have two 650 point thematic armies matched up against each other! It's the defenders of Minas Tirith against the Siege of Minas Tirith Army! This is a great game with Gandalf the White and Gothmog. Who will win? Watch to find out!

Dude this battle report is crazy ! Jacob had the best list by far, and yet lost, which I think is INCREDIBLE ! And I appreciate watching other caracters such as Gandalf, the knight of the white tower, for a bit more diversity !

It was so strange at the end of the game I was so happy that Daley won. Going into the game I was worried I would just walk over his army but he played it to perfection

Such a great game to watch; absolute nail-biter. Always great to see an "off-meta" suboptimal list like that Minas Tirith list doing well against something that is reasonably optimized & "competitive" - love to see it. Constructive criticism: I always appreciate batrep channels (MESBG or any other game) posting their army lists either in the video or in the description. A verbal summary & a close-up of the models at the start of the vid just isn't the same as looking at a written roster (ideally you should have both).

Ironically, Denethor going crazy at the end might have been a good thing, since Jacob didn't try to wound him even if he was in the thick of battle, thus not scoring VPs for that

Love your battle reports, the improvement from your early stuff is mental! I know Gandalf is expensive, but when he's used well he seems to be very effective, especially if the game goes long, is he a bit underrated?

Side note: if Denethor fails a coursge check for broken mind, can the opponent make him charge his own models? If so, it feels Jacob missed the opportunity to get some leader wounds or even kill.

Totally correct, I only lost by 1 point so wounding him would have gotten me a draw but it was way to exciting to think about using him to kill his own guys!

Yes he can, he has a rule where if he fails a courage test at the start if the turn the opposing player controls him for that turn.

We just used the passenger rules as detailed in the Main Rule Book. It typically isn't used in Matched play but we figured with the nice model and the thematic match up it would be a fun inclusion

As a Minas Tirith player, and an avid Gandalf the White defender, I had a raging erection the entire video. I declare myself a worshiper of the church of Daley, may his majestic facial mane grace us every video this channel publishes in the future. The accurate use of spells, the perfect positioning for the heroic moves, the stoic confindence that his dice would deliver... His handling of the Wizard was a sight to behold.
