For those that take on the opportunity to go winter camping, what tools do you use to keep warm in the tent?
@GrizzlyPath3 жыл бұрын
Typically a little Buddy heater, but I recently had the chance to try my friend’s diesel heater and that was pleasant for sure. I liked your friend’s propane heater though! Lots of great ideas.
@ConquestOverland3 жыл бұрын
@@GrizzlyPath There certainly are numerous routes to go, nice to have options! With the GFC we are planning to initially try out the Buddy heater to start and see how that goes, though I've heard it adds a decent amount of condensation simply due to the propane... We shall see though!

I also found the Boulder deflaters a little finicky. I know they are relatively cheap, so I took them apart to see what could be improved. They definitely needed some love as the machining and finished angles were very sharp. After some deburring, polishing and lube they work superb now. If you don't want your old ones, I'll take them, would be nice to have two different pressure options.

Just got a 4Runner and need to replace the highway tires ASAP. Went to my hood during a blizzard at night and ended up temporarily delayed in quite a bit of snow never really stuck in a 4x4... I did have to air down 20 lbs and essentially inch forward, digging to the ground. It was a slight uphill and shoulder lean. Funny. About an hour. Right off the dealer lot. Everyone says ko2s but is there something better?

@@ThePrezObozo lol bro just slap any off brand all terrains on your rig and youre good, i used to go with a 2wd 4runner and discount tire specials on rocky trails in new mexico and I was (mostly) fine
@ConquestOverland3 жыл бұрын
I would say get what works best for you and your budget. Any tire other than stock will be significantly better. Though for a rig that doubles as a daily driver and weekend warrior, all terrains tires are a fantastic choice.

I have a Kovea isobutane heater I’m rocking-I got it from LoLo Overland,and it’s the perfect size for my Alu-Cab rooftop tent on my 4 Runner.I had the Big Buddy,but it creates too much condensation and it runs for 5 minutes and it’s too hot.
@ConquestOverland3 жыл бұрын
I'll definitely have to look into those! Agreed on the Buddy Heater, lots of condensation created when using this but works in a pinch 👍
@irishdefense773 жыл бұрын
@@ConquestOverland just have a look at he Kovea heater-for the size of the tent you’re running(similar to mine)one fuel bottle will get the tent warm enough in 7 minutes to shut it off,and run it again in the morning when you get up-I found that one isobutane bottle will last 4 days easily and I usually carry a spare(better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

@ 12:25 What is the orange device and what is its purpose? Thanks. Ever here the stories about John Tornow, aka The Wynoochee Wildman?
@earshelhogan61483 жыл бұрын
It's called a damper. Should the cable snap, it helps the cable fall to the ground rather than recoiling and injuring someone or damaging a vehicle. Glad to see them using it here!

Very cool video! Two things though..... Heat sources in 32 degree weather?! Sissys. Hahaha. Man, I'm from Florida and when I go into those climates a good zero degree sleeping bag is all that's needed. The other thing.... I have a moded 2019 TRD offroad and you'd have to be a contortionist midget to sleep in there! Well.... I'm 6'10" so that's not gonna happen. Seriously though... that looked like a blast. I find it pretty funny, I actually sold my GFC set up to get something like a regular shell/rack and a GFC super lite tent on top haha. GFC set up just wasn’t worth all that money in my opinion. BUT I see you’re out like 24-7 so makes more sense.
@ConquestOverland3 жыл бұрын
For sure, everyone has their setups for what works. That’s honestly what makes it all so unique! But I do love the super lite they have done. Can’t beat all that you get in the fraction of the weight.
