I think this could actually be a solution to absentee fathers. I mean an absentee father is a man who was willing to sleep with the mother and maybe even be in a relationship with the mother but wasn't willing to be a father. But with this arrangement both the parents aren't looking for a romantic connection or relationship. They just want a child that they can co-parent together. I think it's actually pretty sweet for that child to know they weren't conceived by accident or because of social pressure placed on a newlywed couple but because they were actually wanted so bad their parents weren't willing to wait to meet the right person and risk it being too late.

Why are people so weird about people having biological children? Regardless of how they are brought into this world. If I want my own biological children, I can also adopt. We can do both, I don't have to choose one or the other.
@marykay78782 жыл бұрын
@@nailsbyobie1289 everyone understands the wish for having biological children. no one negates that. what some people dont agree with is that an adults wish to have biological children overrules a child's need and right to be raised in a two parent home. if i dont find the right partner to have biological children and raise them in one household with, then i would rather adopt. i would rather give a child, that has no parent and is being institutionalized a loving single-parent home, than going through IVF or random hook ups to have my a biological child as a single mother. even though being raised in a single parent home is definetly challenging for any child, it is still an upgrade in comparision to being institutionalized, in foster care or adoption homes.

@@marykay7878 Right but why can't I adopt & have my own child? Why do I have to only adopt if I can't give my own child a two parent household? I'm just saying we can do both. Plus adoption is extremely hard to do, you can't just go to an agency & adopt a child right then & there. Some people who would be great parents aren't able to adopt because of how they run agencies. Not saying you shouldn't try & do everything you can to adopt (if that is what you choose) but having a child of you own is WAY easier. Given there are no complications with the pregnancy.
@marykay78782 жыл бұрын
@@nailsbyobie1289 when did i say only people who are single should adopt? obviously i encourage everyone to adopt, especially couples and also couples who already have children? i said something completely different: if i am single, and have not someone who i can see myself spend the rest of my life with, then i would RATHER adopt that going through IVF with someone that is not my spouse. i would rather give a child who has no parents and is already in this world by themselves a single parent home, than deliberately create a child in a lab to be raised in a single parent home. i think the child's right to be ideally raised by two parents overrules the adult's right to have biological kids regardless of their spousal or relationship status. also, while i hear what you are saying about the challenges of adoption...ivf can be just as timely and costly: garcelle had her twins with her second husband via IVF and it took them 5 years, and tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. adrienne and israel are trying IVF for a couple of years as well, and must also have spend huge amounts of money on it.

@@ronaldmcdonald1977 I don’t think we should use extremes on either end to minimize the truth about a child’s basic needs. At least in the fore-mentioned situation there are two parents. A lot of the current generation were raised in single parent homes and the world hasn’t fallen apart. Children need a loving financially secure environment that’s it. No one should be restricted from having children just because they never met someone who wanted to marry them. If you can afford it, emotionally ready for it, go for it. Divorce rate keeps getting higher, you have a better chance at just being single than meeting someone getting married and that marriage working. Not everyone wants to be in a relationship but still want children. I have never desired to be married or anything of that nature but would still love to have kids. Do what works for you. Also I hate that a two parent household is seen as ideal as someone raised in a two parent household , I can tell you that it can also be extremely traumatic. Friendships tend to out last most romantic partnerships so this seems much more sustainable in my opinion.

You should be friends with your spouse. That’s the foundation for a healthier marriage.

@@43cassy yes but you can be friends with them but and still not be romantically compatible in the long run. I feel like people who weren’t raised in two parent households have an idealized version of it that just isn’t real.

Honestly, I’ve already decided that if I’m not married or in a serious committed relationship by 35, I will do this same thing… Either with a good friend or through IVF. Some people are well off financially and have the desire to start a family and would make AMAZING parents, but just haven’t found the right person yet. And especially for women, we have a biological clock. Why should I have to miss out on the opportunity to have a family just because I haven’t met the right guy? Obviously, I HOPE that one day I will meet the right guy, get married and start a family the traditional way, but that’s my backup plan. I’ve always wanted to be a Mom and I’m not willing to give that up…

Im with loni on this one. I feel like whenever you take big decisions make sure the main person it will affect is you. Having parents that are not together isn’t always easy for the kids , so not sure how their kid would feel growing up.

I’m disagreeing with some of the views. These people are adults, let them do what they want. It doesn’t affect you in any way.

And how Loni know it wasn’t the woman’s suggestion especially because women have a clock they don’t have forever to “ find the perfect man “

There are so many children in the system who are looking for good parents. What the hell is this? Why not adopt?

I find disturbing that all these people are creating a child without thinking about what the child would feel I think that this choice is very selfish.
