I'm loving all these Solo only games that are being released. I hope this game receives the audience it deserves. This is a great game! As always, you showcased it wonderfully. It's a true pleasure to spend time on your channel. Thank you so much mate.

That's very kind of you to say. I found the bag building in this game to be really enjoyable. Great theme and production. Nice quick playtime. Like you say, it fits in nicely with games like Maquis, Coffee Roaster, Warps Edge, and Under Falling Skies. Thanks so much for watching!

After watching your playthrough I was lucky enough to find a copy in my local games store (it was the last one). It was nice to find a smaller, lighter game rather than the heavier campaign games I usually buy and a completely different theme than my normal games. Thanks for a great playthrough, your videos make learning/playing new games so easy. Looking forward to more videos (although my wallet isn't !)

Thanks! What a coincidence! Two days ago I was watching a video on youtube about fishermen, and I got reminded of how I used to watch 'Deadliest Catch' like 15 years ago and how much I enjoyed watching that show. The thought crossed my mind that it'd be cool to have some sort of solo fishing boardgame in that vein, but I didn't look into it. And now you're just serving it to me on a silver platter lol. I'll be buying this 😁
@TotallyTabled5 ай бұрын
Ha, this game is lacking the deadly part, but it's got the catch part covered. That would be an awesome IP for a game, though. I've been noodling with a Top 10 IPs I want as a board game list and that one might make the list. Thanks so much for checking out the playthrough!

I've been enjoying it. It's definitely a smaller game, in a nice small package with great production and art. It is comparable to a Coffee Roaster or Warps Edge. I love having a few games like this to pull out and play when I want something quick and dare I say cozy. Thanks for watching the video!

Great playthrough! I love the art. The small touches like the reflections of the boats in the water and the nets on the Upgrades cards connecting side-by-side. Those, and of course, the tin/canning theme tied into everything. Looks like Fleet The Dice Game won't be my only solo fishing game (I typically only play Fleet solo).

It's not a Totally Tabled video without the poker chips! 😄 I was very tempted by this one, but I've learned I'm not a big fan of bag building so I couldn't justify the purchase. Still, I very much enjoyed watching your run! Thanks again for sharing.

Yeah, it's pretty much all bag building so probably a good call avoiding. I forgot to mention in the video that I was using poker chips so hopefully nobody thinks they come with the game. 😬 Oops. I'm glad you enjoyed the playthrough!

Nice play! Thanks. This game has different cenarios and difficult levels? You played so well it seems to be ease to beat!
@TotallyTabled5 ай бұрын
Yes, each month is a different scenario that I think becomes more difficult (I haven't played them all). And each scenario has a standard and difficult goal to accomplish. I have seen online that some people are saying it is too easy. I find the standard a little easy but the difficult has been a challenge for me. You could always start with less money as a way of increasing the challenge. Or up the amount of money you need to earn for a victory. Thanks for watching the playthrough!
@Xebeche18605 ай бұрын
Cannot wait for my copy to arrive 🙂 The repopulation of the bag is so thematic. One question: Couldn‘t you just have bought another boat for $1 at the end in order to get to the high difficulty goal of having 5 boats total?
@TotallyTabled5 ай бұрын
Yes, I could have. I was just trying to beat the standard difficulty and didn't even notice the harder until the very end, so I could have easily met it if I was trying. I would only play with the difficult goals after you get a few games under your belt. Thanks for watching!

Another great video thanks! I womdering if that shark card would be ‘you’re going to need a bigger boat” I’m not sure if there is a place to ask you general question so going to do it here) if that’s ok - with the holidays coming up, any recommendations of what to take on vacation that’s a medium heavy solo board game? Maybe a good top 10 for the future?
@TotallyTabled5 ай бұрын
I've thought of doing a travel games list. I'll give it another look over and see if I can't come up with a list I'm happy with. Off the top of my head, Button Shy games like ROVE and Sprawlopolis often travel with me, although those are not medium weight. Small box games like Mini Rogue, Maquis, Resist, Coffee Roaster, Cafe, Welcome to the Moon, Warps Edge, Under Falling Skies and For Northwood work great. Again, not all medium weight. The Garphill games travel well -- Paladins and Hadrian's Wall come to mind. Those take some table space, so depends on where you are going. Those are a few ideas anyway. Thanks for watching!
@JulianTheLecturer5 ай бұрын
@@TotallyTabledoh that's awesome thanks. Yeah my thought was easy to pack (not a huge box footprint or contains lots of fiddle bits that are easy to lose) but playing at a bar table by a pool and would take me some time not to get bored with. The roll and write ones seem like a good bet - probably no dexterity ones as it's an open bar :)

Regarding octopus rehabilitation efforts, I'm pretty sure deep sea is the bag not the open sea.

Nope. Page 10: "The Deep Sea area consists of tokens on the Open Water card and the tokens that were not loaded onto a boat."

Please i have question.. having not enough fish tokens to spawn in general supply after final round means loosing the game? Or Is just important having enough fish tokens in the bag? Thanks
@TotallyTabled4 ай бұрын
I don't think there is a penalty for running out of fish in general supply, only water tokens in supply. Hope that helps.

Interesting game - thanks again for the review of solo games / could you possible do a playthrough of Ostia + Pirates Expansion? Thanks!
@soggysunshine87005 ай бұрын
I'm confused. On another video, spawning was aloud if it was in the water under the boats. Also, in another video they said that you can replace all the boat/upgrade cards whether or not you use them.
@TotallyTabled5 ай бұрын
Yes, I just put all the fish from under the boats onto the open water card to make it easier to count. And I believe you can only replace all the cards if you haven't taken one that round. Thanks.

Great playthrough as always. The art on the cards looks great, and thematically the game seems great… but something looks a little bit off about the different factors that need to be weighed up when making decisions. I don’t know how to put it into words… maybe you just made the decision making look easy?
@TotallyTabled5 ай бұрын
I cut out some thinking time in the edit, so that might give the false impression that the decisions are easy. It is a light game, but the decisions are meaningful and sometimes subtle. It is all about balance. Get too many ships too early and you might overfish. But too late and you won't earn enough money. When do you trade your fish for special upgrades instead of selling? I find it a cozy game and the decisions are simple to understand but not simple to make. I get a Coffee Roaster vibe when playing. It will be too breezy for some people for sure. Thanks!

This felt a lot like coffee roaster to me. I think it is a dynamite game.

@nobuthatsme92015 ай бұрын
@@TotallyTabled yes in feel. I get the same feeling in satisfaction when I nail a certain number of fish and boats. I like coffee roaster better but this game is a pure winner. Some of the months are a little too easy I would say though.

@nobuthatsme9201 Coffee Roaster (Saashi version) has a unique charm to it. I love the charm, bag building and cup test at the end. I just played Conservas - it is awesome too!
