For those asking how to save the mappings, rather than having to remap manually each time. On bitwig and ableton, and other daws, you can save your console 1 as a preset. Better still, you can save it as a group preset combined with your fave eq and distortion plugins pre mapped. Then you can load the whole group at once. The thing is, I'm not sure how this is going to work with mulitiple instances on different tracks in your project?

Would be cool to see a video tutorial of this, especially if we get an answer to that question at the end.

@@ToneChaser-13 Afraid it looks like a 'no' for now at least. I just updated and tried what is shown in the video - no 'midi CC' option appears, and then saw Todd's comment on his own channel today where he says: "As of now, the MIDI Fader mode and the mapping to midi modules is for Mk III units. But the change[log] you are referring to is that I believe you can put your Mk I or II units into a MIDI mode as long as a Mk III unit is running."

@@ToneChaser-13 I feel you brother, we're in similar boats - believe it or not, my mk2 console and fader arrived in the post literally the same day they announced the launch of mk3 console (facepalm)... but then I realised I couldn't justify the cost of the newer models, so stuck with it and so far pretty happy with the way updates have continued - although I'm sure I'll upgrade eventually.

@@synthshed it’s all on purpose, as they kept midi CC out of the picture as long as they could. Until SSL took the lead, suddenly MidiCC is available. @@alanevansmusic-yt In Pro Tools, as far as I know, the individual plug-in must allow for MIDI mapping. Certain products such as the Model Series products or FabFilter products do allow for this.

@Mark-w6rКүн бұрын
Only thing i've managed to get working in Cubase is mapping QC (quick controls) but not for plugins. MIDI learn works, but mappings are lost if you change patches. As for plugins with MIDI learn (like Pro Q4) the plugins don't seem to receive the input from the MK3. Seems a bit pointless atm. Be more useful to have full DAW integration and be able to map all controls to what ever daw functions you desire. So far pan and volume are only things it can control in DAW (without console one plugin) even these two controls are mot re-mappable. Finally, be better if we could drag and drop to reorder the CC mappings in the Console software. To organise them how we want.

They keep adding features to mk3 users and leave mk 1 and 2 users hanging, even if it’s technically no problem to give these features to all CUSTOMERS. I think this is very disappointing and invaluable behavior. Why do you expect people to buy every new iteration of a product you come up with? I’m done with softube
@astrofishtixКүн бұрын
It’s been 8 years since the last iteration was released. If you want gear that stays relevant for longer than that, digital controllers aren’t for you. It’s not as if they have made the controller unusable as some other companies would have done. They just aren’t going to spend their time providing more features for older model because that would be terrible for business and the company would seize to exist. I think you should recalibrate your expectations for what is essentially a software company.
