"Companies are not your friends" Is the best way to describe this weird loyalty It's okay to like a brand but people need limits, i don't know how but they always find annoying ways to try to defend their favorite brand (specially PC gamers) Anyway, another great video as usual Geychelf I live for that "wahoo" of yours xd

I remember being a big Nintendo fanboy growing up although I did own a PS2 (which I loved) and Xbox 360 (very brief). I remember once my cousins got older and I went to high school, Nintendo wasn't seen as cool anymore. My cousins would ask me, "You still play Nintendo?" People in high school would make fun of me for still playing Nintendo games. Back then, it bothered me a lot so I would defend Nintendo at every opportunity. Then, I grew up, finally got a PC 3 years ago after working to buy parts and now here we are. It's really stupid that people still defend their consoles like they're their children. Like you said though, just pick whatever you're comfortable with.

Great video as always. I agree that console wars are stupid - for the most part they just stem from buyer's remorse (or defending the one you were able to get for Christmas as a kid). Corporations don't need defending. But I think competitiveness does breed innovation...The problems are then when there is no competition. Nintendo's a great example - they don't have to reduce prices or make Pokemon actually take effort because you can't play them on any other platform. Physical copy sales are also a great way to get discounts for even Nintendo games. Just don't fall for the day 1 meme.

No matter how bad I may feel about myself, I just know I can't be worse than grown-ass dudes who still show off their consoles to others
@ivanbluecool8 ай бұрын
Were people still talking about this? Sure I have preference to ps4 and Nintendo consoles but that's only because they got the games I wanted to play. If the company starts making worse games I won't be loyal I'd move to whatever is making the games I want to actually play

@@mwelite1706 it feels like ego and even cult like mentality at a certain point. It's similar to people who defend some companies that make bad products but continue to support.

Nintendo needs to either lighten GF/TPC's load or give them more time to develop. I firmly believe if Scarlet and Violet was less buggy, it'd be in the top five generations of Pokemon. Also remember when Microsoft wanted to work with Nintendo and Sony to bring games to more customers before buying ABK? As a teen in high school during the early 2010s, the console wars were a NIGHTMARE.

There are no benefits to console wars for consumers. It allows companies to get away with more non-consumer friendly things because of the fanboys who blindly support and defend everything they do, and it leads to more monopolization that'll just give the companies more incentive to do these things because the fanboys will never branch out. Console fanboys don't care about gaming like they claim they do. They just care about feeling superior for sticking to one console

Hi, The Game Shelf. Would you try the Epic Battle Fantasy series by Matt Roszak? These flash Final Fantasy-inspired games are pretty awesome, I think you really should try them out. I'm certain you'll find their quality, humor and feeling close to Pizza Tower. These flash games will be a great thing to cover, especially since Matt Roszak's work needs more love too. The Epic Battle Fantasy is like the Pizza Tower of the classic JRPGs made with passion by a Flash-to-AIR developer. You should try them out and review these series and their spinoffs.

They are on Steam with the ancient ones being bundled as a Collection while the more modern titles starting with 3 are standalone, FYI.

@@TheGameShelf Also, I'd like to thank you for this video. This video really shows how the humanity should act in the most optimal way regarding the Console Rivalry. Unfortunately, Garry's Mod is just not that kind of community, FYI. It is suffering quite a civil war in its depths of customer community, unfortunately.

Consoles wars gotta be the saddest and most pathetic part of enjoying gaming. The fact that you got dudes out here which plastic electronic toy is better all because of some sort of "loyalty" is laughable as hell. It's ironic that their constant gawk-gawking of their favorite company makes them more played than the system they try to defend.
@Mates15008 ай бұрын
Brand loyalty is stupid. You can see this especially throughout the PC gaming forums and subreddits. Tides shift all the time. AMD used to make trash CPUs and Intel absolutely dominated the gaming market, but then Zen 2 and later came out, now Intel is the space heater joke. AMD makes more powerful GPU hardware for the money, which is definitely true, but some people are forgetting the part of the equation, where Nvidia often has better drivers and tricks up their sleeve like DLSS, FG, or Ray Reconstruction. Even though I hate the recent Nvidia pricing, my 1070 to 4070 Ti upgrade was massive, more than 300% the performance. You can now see Intel entering the dGPU ring. You hit the Sega sentiment right on the head - Atlus/Sega are on an absolute roll this year, but I will wait for a while before buying LaD8 or P3R, because I'm in no rush to play either of them, and I refuse to regularly pay 70 EUR (at the LOWEST) for new releases. The Aigis DLC pricing is a real kick in the balls. With consoles, if you want access to the biggest amount of variety, all you need is really just a PC and a Switch, PC gets all of its own titles, all Xbox titles, and most Playstation titles, albeit with a delay. Nintendo gets the rest. But all of the consoles have their own place. If someone asked me for a cheapest way to play the newest games on a TV, you can't beat the value of an Xbox Series S and Game Pass.

most of my favorite games are generally platform agnostic so I ended up outside the debate most of the time or just leaning toward the system that offered the best experience for my games when they were multi-platform (mostly Monster Hunter, Ys and Legend of Heroes). That will generally default toward PC if it's available or the best available launch platform if PC is for a later date. Outside of that I typically get some Nintendo games too because those don't get shared to other platforms. I'll let people argue, ima just be playing my games.
