If I wanted to add 4 rear buttons (along with 2 digital tap/smart triggers), where would I solder the ground wires to since there are only 4 on the gold ribbon? 6 ground spots would be needed total.

What type of soldering wire did you use. Was it electrical? And did you use the wire with lead or lead free

This mod does not allow for changing the assignment of default buttons it is for adding additional buttons to the controller. Within the PS4 itself you can change the button configuration of your controller and swap as you need, no mod is needed.

You can solder r3 & l3 right from the motherboard analog sticks buttons
