The lore on this episode was extremely interesting. It's really sad this is the last project Akira Toriyama worked on. He wanted his fans to enjoy this show. He started with kid Goku and ended with kid Goku. Truly a legend of our childhood. Rip Akira Toriyama.

For anybody wondering about the timeline (re: official sources): The Buu Saga takes place in Age 774 and the last canonical wish on the Dragon Balls was in November of that year, to erase everybody's memory of Majin Buu. We don't have an exact date for Trunks's birthday, but it's been less than a year since the Dragon Balls are still stone, and it's seemingly Spring, so Daima probably takes places in early 775. For reference, "The Return of Son Goku and Friends!" is set in 776 and "Battle of Gods"/Dragon Ball Super starts in August of 778.

Dende not knowing about his race being a part of the demon realm makes sense since he left his planet as a child, it's probably one of those things you learn at a certain age and he just left before that and no one thought or forgot about telling him. Also Piccolo holding this a secret also makes sense since, well, for a while he was just the villain and didn't have a reason to explain himself further, and once he became part of the gang he more or less decided to leave his past behind and probably never happened a moment where he felt it necessary to talk about his race's origins, since either we have bigger things to worry about or the mood is too chill and just doesn't warrant talking about something so complex.

It was revealed in the later arcs of the Super manga that the Namekians didn't originate from Planet Namek but from a completely different realm. They migrated from another realm and moved to Namek. Diama pretty much confirmed it and expanded upon it which I do love.

The reanimated scenes, the Vegeta stance before exploding, the Gohan reanimated scenes giving super buu some crispy hits was looking nice and crisp. The lore they adding with this series has me getting pretty interested in this series. Wasn't expecting too much tbh just a silly adventure with kid characters. Though Dendes retcon/ redesign is weird, making him more child like again is odd. Seeings how in the Majin Buu saga he was bit taller and voice was a little deeper. But now in Daima he seem like a kid again even before the dragon ball wish

The namekians being from the demon realm makes sense if you look back in the manga in super during the granola arc. Manito the old namekian said that the original namekians came from a whole different realm, plus it wouldn’t make sense for piccolo and dende to know because the came from a generation after the grand elder and kami. Remember the grand elder was the soul survivor of some tragedy that killed a lot of the ancient namekians so every one after him never knew of the demon realm.

I mean technically the Buu "bad air" thing could still work alongside the "mortals have a time limit" as a coincidental timing. But with the Kais being unfused here via Buu instead of via the Dragon Balls as stated in Super, I guess makes this not canon to the Super timeline then?
