Honestly really, really appreciate the "Get Real" portion of each episode because it mirrors healthy human connections (especially when its an all male hosts episode) where people can be both funny, silly and light hearted, but then also, in the same context, we see what it looks like to give grace to talk about some real deep shit without ridiculing, shaming or embarrassing the person expressing themselves. Its so wholesome 🥲🖤

Okay, about the post-nasal drip: 1. Allergy meds, get allergy meds. 2. Eat something that will soak up the mucus in your stomach asap. Eat a slice of bread/toast, some crackers, etc. Have another slice of bread/toast with your tea. The goal is to soak up the liquid so you feel less awful.

Rileys story at the beginning reminded me of how i was visiting my elderly father in a assisted living home, and i was standing with him outside in an area where he and others came to smoke weed/cigarettes. This lady smoking a cigarette complimented my shoes (people always compliment my shoes), and i complemented hers back- she was this older woman w this preppy north face jacket, jeans, and then what looked to be like big goth platform shoes- and i genuinely loved the juxtaposition of her fit or that she was rocking these big goth shoes at her age. BUT when i got a closer look i realized her right and left shoes were like slanted/raised in different ways bc they were MEDICAL shoes. But i didnt apologize or anything nc my comment stood, her outfit was heat.

Tl;dr- just try a tactical vom, its way less bad than the regular vom experience As someone who deals with having to vom regularly, im certain that letting it happen to get it out of the way also decreases the amount of horribleness of it. If i go oh i dont want to, and leave it until it does it itself its the absolute worst with shakes and shock and sweats, but if you chuck a tactical vom its so much easier to get through and rally on.

Honestly i really related to the caller w the niece, i love one or two of them but so many babies in my extended family are just kind of meh. And it is inherently expected that you think they are amazing and perfect and cute just bc they are a baby which is annoying. Also a lot of the callers issue seemed to be not just about that proje ted expectation that she care but also that so many of their conversations centered on the niece- and depending on the family dynamic/chemistry, simple and innocent things can easily become like the objects of scapegoat small talk if people dont really know each other well enough or personally connect that well- things like dogs and cats, babies, etc. Bc they are sort of neutral territory that its assumed everyone feels similarly about. And it being her niece in law i thought this might apply but maybe not idk

@alexandreawetzel59252 жыл бұрын
Gotta say I completely agree with the girl who doesn’t like her Neice in law. 😂 I also work with kids. & I don’t see the families hype. It’s honestly so annoying to me how obsessed my in laws are over my niece. They FaceTime call her everyday even in the middle of meals. & there is this expectation that we are to fly to California for her birthday every year. (When I married my husband I put a stop to that) honestly I mean she is cute but like the way everyone oodles over her is too much.
@meikusje2 жыл бұрын
Generally, in my experience, it's not even the kids that are annoying, it's the way other adults behave around/about them. I get that parents think their kid is the bee's knees, but they need to get over it and realize that to other people, it's just a kid, like all other kids 😂

Listen 👏 sibling relationships are complicated, and if you think your brother sucks and maybe even have seen him treat some girlies not great youll want him to stay away from your squad yk. Also there could be some jealousy over losing a friend to your sibling or if someone gets hurt complicating the friendship etc. Maybe will is the only one who will see this bc he obsessively reads comments but thats good enough for me

I know this is 9 months late, but seriously, the fact that I had to scroll this far just to find this comment is sad to me. I was so frustrated listening to their advice on this one, I kept waiting for the "real advice" part where they tell the caller that her friend might have a very good reason for not wanting her brother to sleep with her friends and as a supposedly close friend she should respect that.

ok, first. that lady did not sign up to be an aunt. it may be cruel......lmao... but lowkey that is not her child, she doesn't haaaave to care. polite indifference! that's the key, & tbh kids don't notice people that often, especially when all these other people gush over her all the time. she won't care unless you're outwardly mean to her. it's just a weird social pressure she's feeling from other adults who are obsessed with kids, and as someone who isn't, i understand her POV. it is a bit eye-roll inducing when people only talk about their kids/spoil them, but i get it. it's like a whole ass life you made or are in charge of protecting or whatever. you put a lot of work into raising them so it makes you proud and you want to share that achievement with others.

I had horrible pnd! These steps changed my life - 1! allergy meds (at night! So it’s in its full round of working when u wake up rather then it losing the effects by morning) 2! Nasal spray day and night babyyyyy 3! Netti pot here and there not everyday buts it’s a great addition (at night) 4! and drink 1 or 2 teas in the morning no milk. Anything milky adds to the mucus and it’s horrible. Do the yummy latte at lunch. The hot tea in the morning makes things SO much better and lastly just try to stay hydrated because that’s another factor. Hope this helps anyone struggling!!! ❤❤❤
