. . . . . .
. Constant Air Volume System or CAV System is an all-air type HVAC system that uses constant air volume while the temperature of the supplied air is varied to achieve the desired heating or cooling.
We discussed the single duct single-zone system, single duct multizone system with reheat coiled, and dual duct system. In CAV System Air handling unit fans are running at a constant speed resulting in a lot of energy consumption for supplying the air.
In the Multizone reheat system, a lot of energy is consumed in heating the already cold air, so the CAV system is not energy efficient. That's CAV system is strictly restricted by many energy codes.

please, i couldn't understand the explanation of the bypass damper which could be installed inside the supply duct and allow the air to exit to the ceiling plennum box when less cooling is required, could u please simplify it to be easily understood? and thanks in advance

A terminal unit is installed in each zone which consist of a heater/heating coil and a damper similar to the damper found inside the VAV box. The terminal unit is designed such that when damper starts closing the supply air starts to bypass into the ceiling from where it is then added to the return air. This design is not common and it can be considered as type of VAV as air flow to the zone will be Changing when damper closing or opening but the AHU have constant speed fan. Hope you got the answer.

Dear I didn't understand about minimum requirements for 30% shall always open for bypass damper, why is it required. how can this be possible? please explain and thanks for video.

Usually damper have a minimum opening position to fulfill the ventilation requirement for the aea being served. Minimum percentage can be any value depending on the area requirement.
