love how it portrays his power in this though to me the best and most accurate (in the beginning anyway) portrayal of Lucifer was in season 5 of Supernatural with Mark Pellegrino. Also, Lucifer wearing white makes TOTAL sense, as he WAS the Morningstar, one of the first angels before the fall. The whole...red devil thing...is an artist's rendition of him. He'd look no different than anyone else, and remember...According to scripture, Lucifer thought HE was the good guy in the beginning. It's a really cool touch on the part of the director and writers. Plus, Peter Stormare is just chilling in the role. Awesome.

My goodness, I love this movie. I remember borrowing the DVD from Netflix in the mail and I probably watched it half-a-dozen times in a week. There's just something about this movie that feels so gritty/dirty and sprinkles in the supernatural without overdoing it. I think it does a great job keeping the movie grounded as much as possible with the higher elements it contains. And Stormare in the white suit is just perfect. He really did do such a good job being flat out...creepy. The parts where he sticks his tongue out or wouldn't light the cigarette stand out. He's a creepy tease one moment, but the next he's busting down doors and knocking down angels. I cannot wait for the sequel to this gem.

I liked this movie even though it's not really faithful to source material, it's got a great cast and a pretty creative story. But the character of John Constantine in his original incarnation as the cynical Hard-boiled Scouse magician/con man is a unique thing in Comics. It's a shame that the Matt Ryan series didn't succeed on it's own terms. But at least the Keanu film brought more awareness to the character. Still holding out hope for Guillermo Del Toro's Justice League Dark! The comic book storylines written by Delano, Ennis, Mike Carey, and the character's appearances in the Sandman stories are really defining. Matt Ryan has also been doing a great job voicing John Constantine in the appearances in the DC Animated Universe (Justice League Dark/Apokolips)

For early Keane Reeves there is Dangerous Liasons, a movie that went huge despite being an historical film, starring John Malkovich, Michelle Pfeifer and young Uma Thurman. Lucifer's white suit is reflective of the fact that he is an (fallen) Angel. And the feet covered in molten tar thing, is from "Paradise Lost". Also, as Constantine said, he didn't ATTEMPT to "minecraft" himself. He SUCCEEDED! And as Garbriel & Angela both said, he was "trying to BUY his way into Heaven"! So, all his actions, while technically "good" were never "selfless". By the way, it takes more than simply Confessing and ASKING for absolution to be granted Forgiveness. You also have to sincerely Repent your sins. And he was trapped in a "selfish" mindset, so that was impossible for him. (Granted, Fear can do that to a person, and SEEING Hell will definitely instill you with lifelong Fear!) And yeah, the bit of "hinted" sexual humor here was great. I mean, let's be fair, ANY guy Rachel Weiss asks if she has to take off SOME or ALL her clothes, is going to hesitate while considering his answer! LMAO.
