There are hoards of people who speak and comment, but rarely a few to actually enact and stand by strong principles. You, Newslaundry Team, has to be that beacon of long lost hope, that I once had from the media! Keep up the great work and keep enlightening all of us. I have 2 'short' suggestions though: 1. Majority of the population today do not know or understand the concept of alternate, independent media. Agreed that this is still picking up but it definitely has a long way to go. The main reason I believe is the penetration of the platforms (youtube, blogs etc) on which such media is hosted upon. Word of mouth can go only that far. People mostly consume news from the big media houses and believe in what they see. I believe that the domain of target audience can be increased. One way is to target school kids, not necessarily from the metro cities but also from Tier 2 and 3 ones. They are the upcoming stars and the real consumers of technology. Outreach programmes can help this cause a lot! 2. The public subscription model is truly commendable. However, if you follow my point, one good idea would be to introduce student discounts on subscription. It is not about being #MuftKhor but a smart marketing policy. Being independent doesn't mean you can't market your product smartly. I can count a lot of my friends from college, who have seen your videos, read your blogs but have atleast once mentioned that it is too expensive to buy! In India, services are still hard to sell. Take GoT for example, everyone goes gaga over every episode, but how many people actually watch it legally? I agree, that it is not the right way to go, but it can start a little slow and just like any other upcoming trend, needs the right appeal. Students are a big and important strata of the tech consuming society and giving them a few benefits, just to get them started, would go a long way! Hope to see more such kick ass shows in the near future! Cheers! P.S: I hope to see a reply :D

Fast forward four years, and the people then think if Lokpal is needed. Corruption now happens by encryption so no one sees what is happening, but just knows it is there. Other independent bodies are now puppets and even thinking of a new independent body is scary.

Can you please make a video on the parliamentary democracy vs presidential democracy? I heard shashi tharoor say that modi supporters vote for him as MP... Even though they support Modi. And only people who actually need to vote modi are people from Varnasi... I'm sure I get this idea... But then the strange idea also comes along that if the leader is the correct one... So will be the rest of the people who work with him. Which basically is presidential type. If you could please shed some light and understand on this whole thing.
