That's the B.B. King title I play the most. "I gave you seven children and now you want to give them back." Killer. I love "Why I Sing the Blues" as well. "Fear of Music" for two dollars is amazing! I need to visit your Goodwill. Five dollars very well spent. That's a fantastic Fall Out Boy 10-inch single. You did well, Mike.

@@mad4vinyl802 I have several Goodwills and other thrift stores that I make the rounds to and it was getting time for that one to pay off. I wish I could do better at knowing when one is going to pay off though it would save a lot of time. However if you ever did come to visit the Edmonton area it would be really awesome to do a bit of vinyl hunting together.

Talking Heads for $2! That FM soundtrack is worth it for the title track alone. Nice finds.

cool 2nd hand store finds, mike!! im surprised you never had that rio allbum before!! thats one of their best albums!
@TCatsDeepVinylTraxx2 күн бұрын
Actually, Rio was the first album I owned by Duran Duran. I picked it up way back when it came out originally from a recommendation from a record store employee. Rio didn't really become popular for several months after it came out, at least in the US, but I was loving that album before anyone else in the area where I lived knew who they were. More recently, I did have a copy of it, but had to sell off some of my records a few years back and I have been trying to find it since. I have been lucky enough to get many of their other albums, but Rio was the one I really wanted. So, I am quite familiar with it, and it is still one of my favorite albums.

Nice finds Mike! You always find the good deals. That War of the Worlds album is good! My buddy just gifted me that record (the new reissue) as part of a wedding gift because his Dad used to play it when he was young and he thought I’d like it. It’s proggy and synthy and there’s some spoken word in there too. Very cool stuff. I think I’d like to have that Donovan Greatest Hits album. I don’t think I need any of his other albums but there are some good songs on there. I think I’ve heard Sunshine Superman too many times so that song annoys me, but Season of the Witch and Hurdy Gurdy Man are just so good. I’ve heard of the Tallest Man on Earth before but I can’t remember who was showing it. As always, you’ve done very well! Happy listening!

I'm also finding great records at my local GW and other thrift stores out there in the wild. The heck with record stores, record shows, and the like!

@@billstill1794 It's always fun to run across great records at the thrift shops. Most people have given up on them but if you have patience you always run across some great deals. But we'll keep that as our secret right? 😁

@@jtsrecordroom3963 That's the first time I've seen Fear of Music thrifting too and I've very seldom seen any THs thrifting. The Tallest Man on Earth is excellent indie-folk and I have never seen it available in the wild anywhere. I think the main guy is from Sweden if I remember correctly.

I picked up that War of the World because it was talked about in the VC as well. I like Third World but I don't know that album. I do have a couple of songs downloaded from The Tallest Man on Earth but I don't think I have ever seen their records even at record stores. Great Talking Heads find. I never seem to have that kind of luck at thrift stores.

@@RandyforRoyals I keep thinking that no one will believe me about thrift store finds because I keep finding stuff I never expect, but everyone always says they don't have any luck in thrift stores, but I promise that's where I keep finding great stuff. I love the blues but never got into BB King, it was too smooth so that greatest hits would be perfect for me. Fear of Music is such a great album, that was a score. I use to have a lot of Third World albums but not that one. You hit the bins at the right time Mike
