I love the show guys, and have enjoyed watching it with my 7-year old son for the last several months. I was a little put off by the Fume ad, though. He knows what vaping and smoking are, and knows they are bad for you. I didn't like having to try to explain the nuance of Fume. I know it's a less harmful product than cigarettes or vaping, but it does contribute to normalizing the addictive behaviours that lead that direction. I hope you'll reconsider this sponsor.
@PerkinsBuilderBrothersКүн бұрын
Thanks for the message… Just to clarify the fume device is not harmful at all… it’s mint flavored air. It’s meant to help people quit vaping and smoking. That’s the purpose of it. It’s a very healthy way to stop addictive habits, like smoking and vaping.

The running joke about Max being Jaime's son still cracks me up. Wish I was slim enough to fit between those posts the way Ray did. Frown face from the empty nail gun was amusing. IIRC, different size tires will throw off the speedometer a bit. I think you can get away with wider or narrower tires, but diameter does matter. Man, having to move that truss over was a bear! The sheer amount of work that is going in to this place is very impressive and daunting. Jaime is clever so hopefully he figured out how to unjam his nail gun. I go down ladders even slower than Jaime does because I have no coordination. LOL. Hope you guys are keeping warm with these winter storms that hit. It snowed in Louisiana.

Let me say that I'm loving this series (as I do all of your series) and this house looks really cool. It's going to be an awesome house. That said, and maybe I'm just a pessimistic person, but all I see is the insane amount of regular maintenance this house will need. I get that Brock probably has all the tools and manpower to do a lot of himself and easily. But woof, that just seems like a ton of work. I think as I get older the size and complexity of house that I want for myself gets less and less. But I'm glad Brock and his wife wanted this house and hired you all to build it so we can all enjoy these videos. Thanks for all the great work you do to document it.

Okay, man, get ready. Hopefully you are not in an area that has been decimated by these horrific fires, and I hope you are. I am going to guess that the level of custom build that the PBB do will have to be accounted for…meaning every board put in place is custom built. Now calculate amount of materials times amount of time in skill involved to create. Let me know what figures you come up with and whether or not ANYONE in CA can pay that or even have any insurance company pay out the amount required!!! Let me know, thanks. I feel your wish to have a great quality build…a build that everyone should be able to enjoy and have. Buddy, CA just has cheap imported labor that doesn’t give a sh*t about the end product, they crossed over the border and are hired. They already know that they are at the cheapest price point and they are working for a paycheck…nothing more, so they can f-off all day long. And the companies that hire them also know it…and don’t care…they always get paid. What the PBB do in building should be the norm and not the exception. Unfortunately, long ago the carpet baggers got the upper hand in almost every trade business there is and the average American just has to accept shoddy, crap, no skill workmanship from these commercial builders…for the most part. Probably there are some that really deliver and are great…but IDK, there seems to be a good deal of shite as well. It’s so good to see companies like PBB and Studpack do great things. Custom build = building the right way…building to last! PBB keep on rocking the right way!!!

I been building houses since 1981, fine effort to move that truss, but honestly the easiest way to move something like that is to RIP the entire length of the floor between the 2 floor trusses on either side, then move the truss over, put ledger boards on the 2 sides of the outer trusses and reinstall the floor panels. WAY less labor intensive and saves a lot of time.
