Thank you for your video. Do you know of any other free resources we could use to prepare for these case studies?

I am currently preparing for case interviews and indeed: I have purchased Case in Point and Case Interview secrets,.. however, I would advise anyone to forget those books and create your own frameworks for every single case by yourself. Take the core question, think of the most important driver that might solve the problem, and then add the other ones by applying MECE. It is hard in the beginning but it's really worth it and makes you an independent problem solver. However knowing some basics like Heinrich suggests here should be done as well to not waste time in case they give you a relatively simple case.

When I interviews at Bain I did well at the first stage case interviews with prep like this. But I found the partner interviews harder - the cases were less clearly defined and there was a CV review too. I think a separate video on partner interviews might be helpful.

Can you make a video explaining the frameworks that are mostly used?
@ajb2292 жыл бұрын
I got interviews at Bain and I did well in the case interviews but the cases in the partner interview were harder and it was the CV review interview that let me down because I didn’t have enough relevant experience.

I just discovered your channel and everything is so interesting! I'm definitely going to use your lessons in my side-job as a product manager for a startup. I have a question: my main time is spent in medical school. Have you ever heard of MDs switching to consulting and doing well? Ever made a video on this?
@FirmLearning3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your feedback, glad you like the videos! Yes absolutely, big strategy consulting firms like McKinsey or BCG definitely also hire MDs. I had several colleagues with that background, also on Partner level. As MD, you are of course well prepared to work on projects in Pharma or HealthTech companies, but will also be able to break into other industries. Might pick this topic up in future videos, thanks for suggesting :) Best, Heinrich

@@FirmLearningPlease do! I know SO many medical students and doctors who are interested in consulting but afraid to take the leap. I can't wait to recommend your perspective to them.

Hi! I have seen ALL of your videos and I really enjoy everything you put up. I am not consulting as for now but I am working as a Program Manager for digital transformation within a big group in Sweden. I love your content but I do miss one thing! Can you please do a video on how to present processes (not notation scheme but general processes)? How do you do that as a Mckinzey consultant? :) Best wishes Christoffer

I was wondering if all types of consultant daily work with numbers or mainly financial and managerial ones. Thank you!
@FirmLearning3 жыл бұрын
Hi Beatrice, there might definitely be some more qualitative niche consulting roles, but would argue that most consulting roles in Tier 1 / Tier 2 / Big 4 consulting etc. are quite data-driven. Best! Heinrich

Dear Heinrich, do you have recommendations next to MBB that deliver almost the same quality but are just working on a smaller scale or "below the radar"? Any information sources you could suggest?
@FirmLearning3 жыл бұрын
Hi Philipp, interesting question thanks! Trust that there are several boutique consulting firms, doing excellent work in niche areas. Frankly not really able to mention specific ones that have the same quality, as I do not know for sure. Best! Heinrich

I just found your videos, and they are excellent! I'm hoping to make a switch from law to strategic consulting next year and I would love for more videos like this. Also, in your experience, have you seen lawyers making a career jump from law to consulting and starting careers at MBB? For what it's worth, I graduated from a top law school in the US and worked at a biglaw for a couple of years doing M&A...
@FirmLearning3 жыл бұрын
Hi, happy to hear this, more videos to come stay tuned! While lawyers are not the largest groups, have met several lawyers turned consultants at MBB, therefore yes, it is definitely possible! Best, Heinrich
