Lexus has expanded its SUV line with the all-new TX, a three-row model that shares its dimensions and many mechanical bits with the new Toyota Grand Highlander, although the Lexus is more plush and luxurious. This new Lexus benefits from a boxy shape and added length over the latest RX, enabling spacious accommodations for all three rows, along with tremendous cargo-toting abilities when the third row is folded down.

The TX 550+ plug in hybrid with 33miles EV range is more desirable if you ask me. The 3.5 non turbo v6 is much safer option to eyes. 33 miles EV range is pretty good for its huge size especially those who have free charging at work. Direct 4 AWD system is pretty interesting to me.

Why would you pull a lever only to have to push the door outwards? It’s more intuitive to push a button to push a door open.

Of course looks are subjective. Personally I don't find Lexus vehicles all that beautiful these days and if Genesis can build a Bentley like interior for reasonable money why can't Lexus do the same?

The 2.4 turbo it would be a huge no. Now if they did the 2.5 L with a turbo now we are talking a great combination. I’m just not sure how that 2.4 Turbo is going to hold up long-term it’s going to be really strained for such a big vehicle. We will see. This is a new combination for Toyota/Lexus.

The 2.4 turbo was based off of the 2.5 when it came to engineering, per The Car Care Nut. The engine has been out for roughly 3 years so far, no major issues yet

Surprised how Spartan the interior looks. A Hyundai or Kia easily has more interior details. I would have thought this was an entry level Toyota without the name badge.

$72000 for a sea of black plastic interior. What happened to Lexus? I'm speaking from someone who owned an LS400 and LS430 over a period of 10 years. And what's with their continued obsession with making SPORT everything on Lexus? These 2 reasons are why they lost me as a customer. Go look at the interior of the Genesis G90 or GV80 and you'll see what a real luxury interior should look like.

+1 I agree, 1000%! I test drove one of these looking for the Lexus experience, and was sorely disappointed. And with that price tag of over $70,000? Hard pass.

31k miles on my TX500h Luxury, been fairly happy. I have had some issues with my CV Axle requiring replacement, and it appears to be failing again. Otherwise like the car.

Interior looks kinda cheap and plasticky. There may be genuine wood trim in this test vehicle, but it appears to be plastic because it is stained to match the surrounding plastic trim. Basically, this interior should be in the Highlander, not a Lexus.

For the latest gen hybrids. If you need to do anything for more than 5 minutes electronically, just turn on the car completely. This means having the dash display "READY". Don't even consider using "ACC" mode like you would in past models.

I had a salesman give me a ride in a TX. He had to tell me how to open the door to get out. I don't understand the attraction of these silly pushbutton, electronic door handles. Large, chrome levers work just fine and everyone knows how to use them.

In order to assess second row, legroom, and your driving position, we need to know how tall you are. It looks like you had virtually no legroom left, so I’m hoping that you’re at least 6’2” otherwise that’s a pretty tight fit.

This seems to happen on newer cars far more often than ten years ago. Perhaps today's batteries are undersized for modern electrical demands.

What is wrong here? No mention of engine power, fuel consumption, switching between gas and battery, range in battery only, fuel type needed (regular or premium), etc. this was one of the worst CR reviews ever.
