‘ARBEQUINA’ Olive tree is the star of the show!
It has it all! Not only is it a beautiful, ornamental evergreen tree but it has history that goes back as far as Genesis in the Bible. It is edible, medicinal, unique, hardy, easy to grow in containers, and holds sweet spiritual significance.
I am planting these glorious trees in a beautiful container and surrounding it with fragrant, culinary herbs.
Gene and I are giving these wonderful olive trees a place of importance and prestige that they deserve in the center of our potager garden.

Oh my goodness! Loved this so much! One of my fave videos to date! I learned so much.. as usual .. but I especially was drawn to this one because I have an arbequina as you know .. I planted her about 3 years ago and she’s gorgeous! She has a bazillion blooms and I’m so excited to see her fruit! I knew I wanted one because of the biblical aspects .. it’s a spiritual thing for me .. but I learned so many other interesting things as well! I wished I had known how well they do in containers before I sunk mine in the ground .. but oh well .. I’ll just have to dig her up when we leave , because I’m not leaving without her lol! Love how they look in your garden! Thanx for the scripture reading , made me cry , I needed the reminder that he is still my provider Jehovah Jireh .. and he is still in control!! I knew you would love this video! I’ve always had in my vision to have an olive tree center of my garden as a symbolism of Jesus being center of our lives and When you told me about your Olive tree and how much you love it, that made me so happy!!!!!!! I loved this video, I may watch it again. Your scripture reading was so beautiful and reassuring, ( amid so much uncertainty). The sound of the stream...perfect!! This has given me a wonderful idea to grow a "promise garden" flowing with the olive, grapes, fig, pomegranates, herbs and honey, God's promises. I have a small Arbequina rooted olive plant that arrives tomorrow. I am ready to up pot plant it in potting soil amended with pea size gravel for good root oxygenation and drainage. Poor drainage is the leading cause of root rot and potted plant demise. 😂

Beautiful. I hope the olive trees thrive. I wonder how you prepared the soil for beds. I noticed that you did not add BioTone or compost as you planted the herbs. Did I miss it? I think a few flowers would be a nice finish, especially year one, as the herbs take hold.

Hi Jo! The soil in the circular bed is made up of mushroom compost, some of our compost from my chics and rabbit and some good native soil from our forest. I did not add the biotone to my herbs that I planted in this bed, honestly, because I ran out of it and forgot to get some😏. The salamander soil that I used in my container has Mycorrhiza fungi and all kinds of great beneficials in it so my olive will be so happy! Thank you so much for watching! Hey Robyn! Thank you so much for joining us and thank you for subscribing! My Containers for the Olive are about 16” in diameter and probably about 2 1/2’ - 3’ tall. I work at an awesome garden nursery and farm, Petalsfromthepast and we sale them. We don’t ship the olives because they are too big. But if your ever coming through Alabama, maybe you could come visit the nursery and me and get you an Olive tree! Again, I’m so excited you have joined us! Blessings!
