as a person who started contemporary dance almost one month ago, it’s not that easy. at first, you will get frustrated.But at the end of the day, there’s no right or wrongs in contemporary dancing, because it’s all emotions and connection with your feelings

Ik you commented this a year ago but when you started it were you older? Ik most start when their younger so it’s easier for them to get it but honestly my mom would have never let me😭

honestly I feel that contemporary dance opens a whole new world of exploring yourself and your emotions . also contemporary dance totally differs from other style of dances and it really allows me to express what I feel through this procedure and as well as improve my creativity I lovee this style of dance

I would say I’m an intermediate dancer, with the experience of a few hip hop classes. And at school I joined the dance troupe :D which happens to do mostly … contemporary. And being the 5’9, body conscious person with the literal flexibility of a thick stick, I was way out of my comfort zone. And it was a pity because the choreo is so cool. And hearing that there is no right and wrong to contemporary and hearing that it’s all about interpretation, made me that little bit for confident :D

Interesting. It seems like the "philosophy" and origin of Contemporary Dance actually closely aligns with what choreographers like Keone Madrid, Anthony Lee, and Franklin Yu ucalled "urban dance", if I'm understanding correctly. However, I don't think anyone could confuse the two styles. Why is that? Is there a new name for what was called "urban dance"? I notice that Steezy Studio has "Open Style" in that place now, but I have yet to see that term used elsewhere.

@lovelyydaii60782 жыл бұрын
@@alessandrarojas0120 don’t be contemporary is you learning the dance and expressing yourself through it or doing the moves in your own way. Also you don’t have to be flexible to look you “good” you just have to put your all in it and your emotions :) . Plus it’s about your structure etc
