From what I understand, subbing now only locks you in for the full release that will will probably start around the time the Stormbringer magazine starts to wrap up, and doesn't actually get you the trial issues. It seems the only way to get ahold of issues during the trial is buy them from the shops in the area that the trial is taking place. Stockport, Swansea and the surrounding area in this case, from the looks of it.

@@Rotebearda well you'll get the librarian to but I could see a lot of ancients and chaplains being kitbashed. Best use I can think of is making extra heavy weapon terminators so you don't have to worry about magnetising and losing bits.

​@@GeoffSmitesits not really a magazine as such, it's about 10-20 pages of build instructions and painting guides for the included minis, scenarios and how-to-play, adverts for the next issues, and a few pages of lore. I don't think a single person would want the magazine by itself as its only purpose is to help you build and paint the minis in the collection and get started playing and give you a little background of the lore.

I would like to buy it. Seriously i really like the Idea of the combat patrol game mode. And it satisfy my collect all armies obsession. But when i am honest with myself: i will not build and paint even half of that stuff. I have 3 combat patrols build (orks, tyras and SM) and none of them finished painted. Even though i made as simple as possible paintshemes. So for me it will be a hard pass. It kinda hurts a bit but i habe to finish what i already own and the 2 patrols i really want are cheaper to buy directly.

This is my issue too. I like the idea of this, but I'm already behind on my modelling and painting without adding more. And I already own the Marines and Nids CPs from buying Leviathan, so overall going to give it a miss. I have at least finished the Nids CP (as in painted and based), Marines I've only gotten as far as building and undercoating.

I'm gonna keep an eye out for the terminator magazine later down the line (I bet they'll split it into 2!) , but spending £900 on a load of combat patrol boxes seems a bit OTT. Apparently is still not aviable in my country (Spain) and apparently it'll take a while to come here, so I guess I have some time to save money and get these issues. Getting a third of these Nid models is kind of a bummer (But I'll buy 3 Parasites magazines if I can) , but it'll a decent way to start collecting other armies, specially with the extra models. Getting an extra Burgundy bottle won't hurt either.

The only problem I had with the imperium magazine was how long it took to ship as opposed to when I actually paid. I pretty much got the previous set at around the time I paid for the next. It's not really a big deal. Also, I had to wait for 2 months before I could build the motorcycle marines. It would be nice if the 2 issues they came in would be in the same month.

I'm so torn on this, all 9 combat patrols are the top 9 armies i'd consider as a 2nd option after my necrons. In pretty much every game i struggle to stick with one thing, dipping into other armies is very expensive in 40k so itd be great for me. it would also be so cool to play combat patrol games with my friend picking and choosing our armies. though £900 minimum for all the issues is a heck of a lot to spend even over 2 years

I had no issue cancelling an Imperium subscription via email after the first delivery. I seem to remember though that it's 4 issues per delivery, so you're actually cancelling after issue 4.

I'm not sure it has as much appeal as I thought initially. if every issue is a sprue, but everything that's offered is already discounted somewhere else (starter set or combat patrol) then maybe you are better off buying just what you want. here you are purchasing 4 issues for 44€ or so when you have the entire starter box set for 68€. Similar with the combat patrols ... heftier ones like GSC may end up being more expensive in an issue-per-sprue basis rather than just buying the entire thing. as usual, this will be good for the people who are well into buying 2nd hand.

I'm curious as how many issues in total this is for. As there seems to be no end to the 200Ad The Ultimate Collection that Hachette are doing. But either way I suspect this is the usual bait n hook type of thing where once your subscribed and want to complete all the issues in binder etc then there'll be nothing to stop Hachette from putting the price up later on.

I subbed to the 9th edition and it was decent experience. Delivery date was standard and then it started to get random and pushed back. Rarely ever an email with a shipping confirmation. Customer support was great when I received incorrect issues. They are currently delayed 3 months back and they’re not sure when the batches are supposed to come so if I don’t hear anything in January I’ll have to cancel and ask for a refund. It’s not bad for someone starting out but it will take you almost 2 years to get the full run and now most of the contents, besides lore, are rather useless. This new 10th edition could be cool to try different army styles and whatnot.

The trial is running now from 10th Jan but only in a few places in the UK, I know people in Manchester have got copies from tescos. You can also subscribe now but probably won't get anything until the full production run if they go ahead later in the year. If you sub now you should get some extra free gifts or extra free copies when it starts, probably when the Stormbringer collection is nearly finished in a few months.

Look, the Magazine is +£800 if we take £10 issue, plus what they charge for binders/dividers/etc. A combat patrol box is around £75-90. You can buy basically all of them if you want for the same total cost. And you don't need to wait 1.5 years to have them. The magazine is good if you want basic paints, brushes, etc and you enjoy the collecting experience and the "random" stuff you get shipped every month and get a slight discount on hobby stuff.

@@B1-997 it’s possible they may import stock, but since this is a subscription, they will likely wait for support from hachette directly. There were issues with imperium being imported not getting the advertised bonuses because it wasn’t technically a subscription. Best case Australia will get access in 12+ months (similar to how imperium was) if it does get a local sub it will be around $80-$100 per month (imperium was $80/M here)
