Amazing hard workers! This video was a true work of art from the people fixing the sprinkler and being proactive on the situation to the videographers and editing of the video. Thanks for the knowledge especially when it is this detailed!

Fyi PVC primer and PVC cement are two different things. Primer is usually blue/purple and is used before cement to create a much stronger bond than just PVC cement alone. Takes an extra minute or so but results in a much better bond than just cement. There are some brands that carry a self-priming PVC cement

How good is the self priming?

This new video style was pretty neat. Good job guys

7:47 you can use a reamer to drill out the border inside a couple or T to give you more wiggle room when you cant lift the pipes to glue together. Also use a sawzall with a fresh blade makes light work for roots.💪🏽

No primer is wild to me! That build will not last without a bonding agent for the glue or cement

Schedule 125 has a specific reason of why it's manufactured and available. Typically used when the water pressure is low. By using a thin wall pipe you increase the water volume inside the pipe to mitigate your pressure loss...say in a townhouse community or resort where a single water line is longer than '500 linear ft. Also, Typically when Schedule 125 is used, the fittings are also scheduled 125. Even if you replace the broken 125 pipe with Schedule 40...the fittings remain scheduled 125 when they should also be replaced to schedule 40.

They don't use 125 in California 20, 40 and 80.
@siliconvalleylife2.0483 ай бұрын
@@jaseny2334 yes indeed they do. Practically every townhouse community has scheduled 125 where it's sub-metered.

@@siliconvalleylife2.048 🤔 I've done all brand new installations on new communities, and the plans always ask for schedule 40, 1" pipe underground and schedule 80 for above ground, never for 125. I'm in socal, OC to be exact.
@siliconvalleylife2.0483 ай бұрын
@@erikc7201 I don't doubt that. But it is common practice and we see it all the time in townhouse communities.

That’s a lateral line. Doesn’t need sch40.

Main line in the us, if I am not mistaken always from copper. This was on irrigation line and water flows through it only when timer says so. It always goes down to money, when in the us people or companies trying to save pennies and using cheaper materials or solution. For example two-threads lights bulbs for rear lamps in cars instead of two regular bulbs. (then you create cars with same color lights whether it's a blinker or break lights....so dangerous in many occasions) In this scenario cheap plumbers or gardeners in the old days using this 125 schedule pipe which is garbage for these applications. You should use schedule 80 and always 1" for the main irrigation line, everything smaller (even they tell you otherwise) is is compromising the system...smaller diameter...turbulent flow (you always want laminar flow=less losses on its way), too much losses on its way, not enough water at the last sprinkler etc. At the end that tree will give you hell few months later anyway. You guys nevertheless fixing it, but the roots will bend that fricking 125 pipe few inches away and the homeowner will be stepping on your shoulders again. What you should had done is to show it, explain how cheaply it was done at first place and replace the whole section alongside that tree.

@jameskim20073 ай бұрын
that's not a water main. It's an easy ass sprinkler line fix that only leaks when the sprinklers are on. Those roots are a pain in the ass to cut but digging under it is easier. lol come on.
