My company got hired on to do a pool deck at the neighbors house. This homeowner came up to me and asked for help. He showed me what the other contractor left and walked off the site.
There were lots of things that were left unfinished. For example the BBQ, steps and lights. All in total $30k in unfinished work. We fixed his driveway and he is thrilled he can drive his car to his garage.

Yes legal citizens not illegal. Hiring illegal citizens is bad on the contractor hiring them, instead of a legal citizen. Im sure they send most of their earned money back to wherever they're from instead of boosting the local AMERICAN Aeconomy.
@Cerberus984
@Cerberus984 2 жыл бұрын
@@slippy11ful As much as people praise illegal immigrants for the work they do.. it's a massive barrier for automation to become cost effective that would be creating jobs American's would actually do. Even if the company was busted for illegally hiring them there is zero true financial risk as the fines range from $250 - $5000 per. Hence, the lack of actual diversity in this field having defacto racist hiring policies "preferring" prospects capable of speaking Spanish. Which the later should be outright illegal when the necessity of knowing it is to be capable of speaking to your coworkers.

It’s not really Mexican power as much as it is they have no education or want to educate themselves to make a higher wage. A hustler that gets the job done. More contractors need to put emphasis on work and get the job done. Today contractors (not all, but many) they show up late, leave early, workers do not show up for contractor, poor workmanship, crap up the work site and leave it for homeowner to clean up their mess, pad bills with extras, extend jobs out for months, collect half the money and never show and so on. I guess this is why the solid contractors are always booked for up to year in advance. People will wait to have a good job done. And price usually not an issue as long as it in reason.

FYI, you can’t get an exhaust for your truck cause you would need to chop the DPF to sound better, and if you were to get one, it’s DPF Back, just Piping, no sound difference, I made a mistake and got a DPF back exhaust, it did nothing, and California wouldn’t like you deleting your truck

We have had this kind of bad experience with contractors. They mess up or cannot do the job properly and then they disappear, after they take the money. It is illegal and they can easily get arrested. You have to check their references. The more references the better. It is difficult. if you cannot have friends to help you then you are stuck. Fortunately you were around when this poor guy got screwed and you were able to help him. Your Mexican workers looked like they really sweated it out there. Those people work hard. i once done a job for a rear fence on an area like this, the front drive was too steep so we had to go in through the back. the carpenter i was working with had a v8 ute, with hard wood and concrete mix bags in the ute, and a trailer full of hardwood (black butt). the ute struggled to even get to the spot, we then had to manually hike all of the timber and cement bags down a shrubby drop off about 20 - 30 metres long. it took 2 days just to get the materials on to the site. worst job to date. our legs were dead for about a week. and we both train muay thai lol
