@@Warhipster karanak is a super interesting model for contrast I think, you can use a lot of stuff here for the flesh and maybe darken the lower limbs, but some nice blending with contrast would make a beautiful model, it helps that a lot of Khorne models benefit from contrast

I think you’re absolutely spot on there! When Contrast first launched a friend and I sat and painted Wrath & Rapture and he experimented with layering the paints over one another and got some great results.

Thanks a lot for this :) I painted my demons exactly like this (with one small change to the sword, I used 4 contrast paints black, red, orange, yellow to get a flame sword). I consider myself still as a beginner and they look amazing. :)

Hey! I've recently started following this video and I'm loving it.. With the new Contrast paints coming out do you think the new Magmadroth Flame orange paint might be a good base for the blades instead of Gryph-Hound Orange if I wanted to lighten up that blade a little more?

I really like your tutorials. You've got one for basic units that a lot of other channels don't. It's just bad luck on my part that I don't use contrast paints ha. Don't suppose you plan on doing these types of units but with regular paints?

Hi Warhipster, do you have any tipps about, how to storage "Citadel Paints" to keep them from drying out? And could heat demage the paints? , because I live in an attic apartment, where it can get up to 40°C in summer. Kind regards Mark L.

Hi Mark! I keep all my paints in my loft hobby room/office and previously lived in two different top floor flats so I don’t think the heat will affect them. On the storage front, as long as your paints are good and sealed you should be fine. Hi Joan! You certainly would be able to make diamonds with Contrast paint, the thinness of the paints would be great for it! I’ll probably look at covering Harlequins on the channel when their new codex comes along.

My application of the contrast red seems a lot darker than yours. I am doing 2 at a time. First one I went on a bit heavier and the second i tried going on lighter. Both ended up the same colour of red. Both are definitely darker. Absolutely no contrasting in the recesses either. Just a couple of extra dark spots where I missed the pooling in random areas. Contrast paint seems so hit and miss. I wonder if it's just because my pot is old and mostly empty now. I shook the shit out of it. Maybe it has more pigment in it that yours.

As someone who is quite scared of ruining his models, I'v got a question: Is there any harm in having huge breaks between these layers? Let's say I were to apply the first layer of red to my bloodletters and just play with them like that for a while, with only red skin and no details, can I still add everything else months later? Or is that a bad idea?

Months later is a bad idea because dust and stuff like that will accumulate on the model making future painting flake off much easier. Don't be afraid to test it with a cheaper model or two though.
