This video made me buy an impact and rebuild my entire front end. I didn't want to but the video took control of me. Plus I didn't know my bushings we so worn out causing my tire to wear. Replaced struts too. Great Job, couldn't have done it without you!!

Ok so, For one, I can't thank you enough for this video. You probably saved me like $3000 dollars at least, I did my wheel hub assemblies as well as my strut assemblies. God only knows what Infiniti would have charged for that amount of work. So I am very grateful. But here are a few notes for others who attempt this... Take note at 2:28, he broke the inner tie rod bolt here while still connected. If you remember, do this at this point. However, my 2004 Coupe with 150k miles, this thing would not budge to save my life. I had to put a god damn torch on this thing then turn it with my arms. It was a mess. Also, notice at 9:40 he counts the turns to put it back on in the same place, when I removed mine I forgot to count in my fit of rage. If this happens to you simply look at the old threads on the old tie rod and you will clearly see where the nut stopped at. Just use that as a measurement. Also for the inner socket part that he used that special tool, you can buy a universal tool on Amazon for like $15. It's more difficult to use but even with mine being ridiculously hard to remove it still worked. I didn't feel like I needed that tool he used. But its definitely worth the money. My inner ball joints where a nightmare as well. Hammer them out with a mini sledgehammer as he did, that's the only way mine came out. Also, mine did not want to go in whatsoever either, the ball joint c-clamp kit was worthless for me. I had to use an adapter and re-hammer in the new it. Friggin nightmare. Just FYI At 9:20 The outer control arm, he removes one side at a time. This will not work for the coupe version of this car (it appears to be a sedan in this video. ) If you're a coupe owner you might get a bit confused at this part because it's between something called the "Front Cross Bar". This bar expands across the entire car. This entire crossbar has to be removed for you to replace your outer control arms. You will need to jack up the front end of the entire car and remove this whole piece from both sides at the same time. Its also kinda heavy and awkward so you may need help when putting this back together. For an exploded image please look at this PDF of the FSM, please note this FSM is for the 2004 coupe. (www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Coupe/2004/ Under this link click on the pdf labeled, fsu.pdf and go to page 8.) Thanks again and if anyone has any other questions feel free to ask

Hey guys quick question so I replace my (upper and lower control arms, inner & outer tie rods) today. I went to test drive it and turning takes alot of more now and the steering wheel feels loose when turning. I know I need an alignment but is it normal for a car to do that when it's out of alignment?

I pushed the bushings out and pressed on new ones instead but yeah I can see the appeal of just dropping in new parts. except they're probably not as good as OEM. the bushings if you just want urethane they're only like 35 bucks. I smile thinking of those with the craftsmen starter set taking this project on while thinking it will be just as easy to repeat the same steps :) Appreciate the camera angles and production style (cut aways, fast motion, no stupid long intro, etc). @TheLateModelTech, have you been happy with this aftermarket kit after driving it around? Im about to do the same lower ball joint replacement on the 350z. Since you took of the lower ball joint cover, wouldn't you lose the grease inside? I'm asking because Autozone doesn't have a ball joint press kit with the right size tubes that properly sits on my replacement ball joint without touching the cover. Thanks in advance!

there's no way around the boot, you have to take it off. you don't loose any grease. you can always pack the joint and boot after you get the ball joint in.

Are the control arms aluminum from the kit you received from Amazon? Did they feel the same as the stock ones?

Yes, aluminum. I was very impressed with the quality. I lean towards oem and really dislike moog parts.

TheLateModelTech isn’t aluminum a little dangerous ? It’ll bend more than steel unless that’s just how lower control arms are made

OE is aluminum and the new parts are aluminum. I feel like certain areas are engineered in a way to be as light weight as possible yet maintain durability and rigidity. You would be amazed how much of your car is aluminum and even plastic for that matter. Aluminum may even me considered safer, as you want the first point of contact in a Collison to have some "give" even your collision Impact bars are aluminum.
