Most people use a diode across the coil. I do anyways.

Yes thank you. I️ usually also use a “clamping diode” also known by other names. In this tiny circuit I’ve never had a problem with the voltage spike back from the relay but you make a great point. I’ll definitely mention it every time from this point forward. Thanks for watching!!!!

Thanks for making the video. I am learning lots. If I was switching a DC load of higher watts lighting the MOSFET heats up. If I used a DC relay would that reduce heat losses? Also, what would happen if you never added the resistor from gate to ground?
