@@arkie14 And the field of view shown via the scope is quite bogus. What, 20' at 900?? A typical 14x scope will have a field of view of around 460 feet at 1000 yards. This is based on information from scopes like the ATN X-Sight 4K Pro 3-14x, which specifies a 1000 yard field of view of 460 feet. It would take a Vise to hold those cross hairs that steady on target at 900. Arkie, have you ever even shot a rifle???

this is an example of a terribly uncoordinated operation: the forward observer squad (if thats who that dumbass officer is with) would have been told to hold BEFORE the order was given to the snipers to engage, and the officer in tactical command would have called off the air assets. that officer on the deck was just some joker who happened to be there, would have had no authority to do that on his own. fog of war and everything, but this would likely never happen

If the film got their weapons accurate it should have been an M40 which fires the 7.62x51mm NATO round, not the .308WIN. Currently the 21st longest sniper kill is with an M24 Sniper Weapon System at a range of 1367yd, or 1250m. So definitely could make it.
