Hi FC, I’m eagerly waiting on your video on balance sheet reconciliations. How do we reconcile variances, how do we make the adjustments, give us a few practical examples please. These recs are crucial to becoming an Accountant, yet I always get stuck on this in my job, and doesn’t look great in my performance reviews

Yooo depending what is your source you are reconciling against. I have Real Estate Development Budgets. Download BS report from software. You'll have debits and credits. then go 6 columns to your right. On the Last Column go horizonitally from the first account balance put = Cell that (Debit) - Cell that is (Credit)+Sum(Across first row) leave one column between where that formula is at and the sums. Now press F2 on that formula. Lock the column Letter so if your debit is on cell D5 and Credit is on E5. Do this $D5 and $E5. Now drag that down your balance sheet until last account. Positive Numbers = Debits -(Assets) Negative Numbers = Credits (Liabilities/Equity) Remove any rows with totals. Go to the column with the formula and go to the last row after the last account. Under sum up the whole column. =Sum() you should get a 0 return if you removed all total columns. So you have Four Columns to make adjustments. Lets say you need to record Cash coming in from a source of equity for $100,000. - in your first Column put $100,000 on the row that Cash is at , then put -$100,000 on row next to equity. Essientally your orginal balance should be $100,000 less in both accounts compared to the new balance you have 4/5 rows to your right. Now to double check this. Go to the bottom of your balance sheet. After last account. = Sum() that column and you should get a 0 sum from that column veritcally meaning that AJE or RJE is in Balance. Rinse and repeat. Once you put in Accounting software you'll get JE number right it on top of column etc.... Financial @@sultanafaqeerzada8961
