So the Zendikar Rising story actually touched upon this with Nissa, with her lamenting what happened between her and Chandra, so it's implied Nissa actually still has feelings for Chandra. Meanwhile, we've had Chandra return in the comics post-War and Tibalt noting how distracted she was by guilt and hurt, so we know she is still reeling from everything herself and maybe regrets what happened. Either way, just how it went down in Forsaken was damning enough to the romantic pair Also, MTG seems to go the "Superheroes can't date" route, since Jace and Vraska also were broken up as well

In Jace’s defense, he was never “shipped” with Emmara, that was a very one sided schoolboy crush that was never going to be reciprocated. Liliana…. She found him when he was barely 19 and made herself into his dream girl to get what she wanted from him. Vraska actually taught him something about wanting to be free and being respected for himself, but their relationship was like a summer fling, which falls apart when vacation is over and everyone gets back to their lives. The fact she chose to betray him and plunge Ravnica into war is hard to overlook. Jace is a guy who really needs to be on his own for a while. Ironically enough, the telepath is the one who is clueless about relationships, and keeps winding up being used and discarded by the more forceful personalities around him. He doesn’t know the difference between a good relationship and a bad one.

The writing can inly get better. As long as they bother writing a story unlike with Theros Beyond Death

I'm hoping WOTC will buck up in the future and give the ladies their well deserved (and hopefully well written) relationship arc. On another note I am wondering if Wizards will start fleshing out our new mtg lore in the D&D supplements?

What was this book? I never knew there was a lore script! Where can I get it and laugh at the lazy writing and NOT plagarise it in my homebrew d&d campaign?

The writer just doesn't like elves. Chandra is totally into girls, as we can see in Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow

I didn't know they were lesbians?! Honestly I don't keep up with the lore seeing as how there's no novels anymore. The universe could be as big as Warhammer 40k if they wanted it to be. They could always just do ebooks if they're worried about physical copies not selling.

I genuinely don't recall any hint in the storyline that they were in love, it looks more like something the community wants than a real story point.

I'd have to give this relationship a pass tbh. I don't care for either of them as characters, and generally I feel we can do better for representation than pushing it on two of the three worst modern magic protagonists.

I dont think the relationship or the ending of it is controversial at all... What is controversial is that this was CLEARLY ended because Wizards wants to be in the Chinese market.

wasn't it confirmed at one point the author is homophobic? seems like I remember some one talking about the things he said regarding why he wrote the relationship out, and how WotC forced ral X tomic so he didn't get a choice
