Matchmaking is mostly an issue for casuals, in pubs average and below average people always has to face pred and kill grinding 3 stacks. This is the biggest reason I quit after like 12 seasons of play. I rather play any other game that has a good matchmaking which makes it challenging but not completely unfair…. And it shows how many players the game is losing due to this. On console after a 2-3min cue in pubs I get only one team mate 2/5 games or people see the champ screen with a 3stack and just leave. Unless this issue is resolved the game wont be able to get many new players who stay as if it made someone like me quit I can only imagine what someone just getting into the game might feel like.

That's actually a problem I can understand. Modern-day Apex is incredibly hard to learn-so complex, so fast. It's really challenging to bring new players to a level where they can enjoy the game, even at a low skill level. At the same time, pred queue times are exploding. So there's a dilemma: you need to onboard new players in an easy environment, but your best players (and most loyal customers) are stuck waiting to play. And never forget, matchmaking in non-battle royale games involves far fewer players. One three-stack in a silver lobby can ruin the game for 57 other people. It's a really hard problem to solve, especially now with a shrinking player base and this massive skillgap.

About matchmaking: "How is that people just realize that apex has always been like this" I think this is a poorly explained point in most videos, it's not that they're just realizing it but more like people can't take it anymore. There comes a point where you get fed up with the same repeating issue and it becomes a deal breaker. Also the reduced player base makes it so it's more likely that you'll be placed in lobbies you don't belong in, the increased rate of poorly matched games is more significative than before.

I recently bought a CPU that makes the game run SO much better. I'm playing a lot better now due to my game being so much more stable. On top of that, I got random heirloom shards on Christmas Day (way before 500 opened packs). Not every player has "maxed out" the game already and done everything they wanted to. There's a reason there's many games to play, just that some people ONLY play Apex and they hyperfocus on the highs and the lows. Lately, there's been some lows, but it's still really fun for me. Community made content like in R5 should not be supressed/banned though.

We all love the game, but unfortunately it has to go. Respawn and EA have absolutely no respect for the community (especially PC players), they don't listen and make dumb mistakes from time to time. If everyone agrees to their changes and stay, they will continue to milk more until everyone leaves. I just installed Apex back 2 weeks ago, although I still have some fun, I will stop playing this game, even tap strafe is now back. You can still continue playing your favourite game though, don't listen to anyone, their opinions don't matter, yours do.

@@lullela TLDR: the company only listened when they get less revenue because players left, so let's not praise them so they will work harder. EA are getting the same revenue and player count every month, so there isn't any point to invest more money to the game. There was no active development and probably that's the reason old devs quit (I heard people saying they left and new devs came, not sure abt that). CSGO was once like that. Then Valorant came, players left and they had to make CS2. Now they have plenty of new fanbase + old people defending the game and all Valve has to do is printing money doing nothing. The game is not fully optimized, matchmaking is still full of cheaters, but people still accept it like a normal thing. There used to be a mix of positive and negative opinion on Apex just like CSGO, it kept going on for what I believe 6 or 7 seasons. Only recently a few influencers started speaking truth and people joined them, I think their voice are significant. My point is that Respawn & EA are not indie game studio, they're giant in the game industry, the only thing that motivates them are the criticize from players and stakeholders. Let's not give them too much praise or they will once again rest on one's laurels. Loba and mirage buff are fine, most people will like it, but opening launch royale feels like a cheap and lazy attempt to bring players back. There is even typo in the event description. The changes to tap strafe is just obvious that they don't listen, even mokeysniper wasn't noticed or discussed with. It also proved my point when they only reverted it after all mnk streamers mass insulted Respawn, not to mention the stupid attachment they have on the charge rifle. im sorry it's basically a rant and I wrote this at 12pm.

Biased opinion, but respect the video. Again the problems are not the beforementioned issues, but the information and patches we are getting as a community as a response. The video from HisWattson he noted that devs are getting silenced from their upper managment which explains their goals with the game. I can continue talking and note ideas, however, I'm neither a game dev, nor is anyone going to care, which is really sad after playing this game for so long. I'm happy that there are people that continue to play this game and even today after checking out the changes I saw that they nerfed tap-straffing..

Matchmaking remains a major issue. In my lobbies, nearly all players have over 20,000 lifetime Apex kills, while I’m relatively new with just 1,500. Most new players quit after being repeatedly crushed, and without them, the game will inevitably die. What HisWattson said about being matched with beginners after a short break is accurate. Facing 20-bomb, 4k badge players as a newcomer is disheartening, and now it's unavoidable as there are not enough new players in the game (spiral of death). Only those with an unhealthy level of persistence or misplaced hope will endure the frustration of trying to catch up. Then there are the good players (like yourself) which will of course struggle to see the problem with meeting newbies and find the reasonable occurence of some challenge to be welcoming. Sadly, for some of us, on some servers (EU for example), it is just not a fun game losing 4 out of 5 fights. It is not that I'm just bad either, having experienced the same phenomenon as HisWattson, after 4 days break I'll usually return to a game being matched with those much worse than myself and get a high kill game win, so the potential is there.

Refreshing to get another take on that matter. I don’t agree with everything, but thank you for pointing out that just simple walking feels so much better in Apex than in EVERY other game. However, I'd like to add something that bothers me too: people and their expectations. In my experience, the ones complaining about matchmaking and "pred" lobbies are usually players like you (and me)-somewhere around Platinum rank. These players are actually decent but expect to drop 10+ kills every game, or else they consider the match a failure. Whether you blame the meta, the matchmaking, or yourself, it all comes back to unrealistic expectations. All those 20-bomb badges and kill-record videos create an unrealistic standard that simply can't be met-purely because of basic math. Think about it: 60 players in a game on a huge map, and one guy kills over 33% of them? That's just not healthy.

What really drew me away from this game is the blatant disregard that respawn has for its issues. The most glaring one was that tournament that gotten hacked and also the save titanfall message. Never seen any other game with that big of a security problem. Not to mention cheaters, lack of content, recycling content, less game modes, ranked issues, server issues, etc. the game had potential and it did have a spark lit at one point. But now respawn is blowing on cold coal. Make titanfall 3 and learn from the mistakes.

I agree and also dont agree, a lot of issues in apex stem from the price gouging and lack of caring about whats healthy for the game, most if not all of the original devs are gone and the only kind of care it was getting is gone, yes the game has a changed a lot but its also nearly impossible to play if ur a returning or new player, u get thrown into lobbies, full of preds and masters, and smurfs, no matter what skill level u are, meanwhile u get teammates with the iq of a potato, the matchmaking is probably the biggest issue to me because no matter what changes they add if u cant get a chance to actually practice them without getting raped by 10 people way out of ur league whats the point, I would still argue that it is probably still the best br but only personally, statistics-wise and from personal experience i have a much easier time on other BRs than Apex, both gameplay and money aswell, The game isnt exactly dying tho but its very close to it because too many people feel this same way and thats a problem that needs to be fixed no matter how u look at it Edit: And yes ik the devs are trying to be more open and open ears but they can only do so much when still being involved with EA who they claim their ideas fall on deaf ears to, and not only that but they really havent started to share too much with anyone they just got more tired of hiding their annoyance towards the community for their continuous complaints which i will admit, does get unreasonable some times

The meta has been confirmed to be changed since they purposely made support broken (which I don’t understand) but that was their plan at least. And yes, a lot of stuff could be corrected. But in my opinion, everytime apex has dropped something it’s almost never people saying “oh wow W”. Let’s take the perk system, an absolute banger update imo. Made the characters feel fresh and it was really fun to try everything. But instead of responding with some positive energy we only see: “what about the servers?”, “what about the cheating problem?”, “when arena?”. Like if I was a developer I would get really sad that my work and ideas are just nothing to people
