This reminds me of the many times that in the cafeteria in my school, when someone would drop a tray of food everyone would start clapping and applauding.
@BassGal923 жыл бұрын
So that's why people would start clapping! We also had random applauses in my middle school cafeteria, but I don't think it was because of a tray dropping.

Oh, wow! I'm in this video (near the end with all the shouting and cheering) xD I think, although the staff didn't appreciate it because it causes a problem for others and there might be a possibility that we wouldn't be invited back if it got bad, it was really amazing to be in the midst of it. It was a surreal experience and like you said, made us feel like part of a community. Thinking back on it, it brings tears to my eyes. That was my first con ever, and it's really an amazing experience to share in those things. I'm a person that isn't really accepted or understood by others for loving the things I do, such as anime, video games, and japanese culture etc., so to be a part of that were I felt like I belonged and like I was going through the same things as others that love those things, it was really awe-inspiring... sorry life story and bad run on sentences... thanks for sharing this, it's getting me really pumped for this weekend :)

All that aimless joy, someone should have stood in the center and soaked it up. Take a bow, act like it's for you.

Something similar happened to me. It wasn't at a convention, but my church was holding an event called insomnia. It's basically where (it was for the youth groups) about a thousand some odd kids, teenagers from all different churches around the area, came and we went to different places in Vegas. This happened at adventure dome. It was all one thousand plus teenagers plus the people that weren't there for the event started screaming well more like chanting something that i can't remember. It was really awesome. i don't remember who started it, but i remember standing there with our group of friends, not knowing what to do, when a friend nick started to chant too then we started chanting. It was really something cool to be a part of.

Honestly my first thought watching this video was that it reminded me of when I was in high school and random applause would start in the cafeteria, and slowly the entire cafeteria just joined in until everyone was clapping and no one knew why XD

I was in the elevator going up the floors while that happened and as the elevator rode up I could see cameras and flashing and everyone just cheering from their floor. it was euphoric m8

One of my friends claims to have unintentionally started it. His story is, he saw a couple walk out of their hotel room in just their underwear, for whatever reason may be, and he spurred them on and the rest just started. HOWEVER, this is not the first time this has happened. At AMKE 2013, last year, the exact same thing happened. Thunderous cheering and yelling just suddenly happened, but I believe that was in response to someone making a Harlem Shake video on that dance mat. I was in my hotel room, undressing from the Cosplay Masquerade and getting ready for the rave when they both happened.

I was there when this started. I was eating with some friends at a table on the main floor right below the one with the make-shift dance/sword fighting floor. It kinda scared me haha I didnt know what was going on. But we went and looked up and it was so cool to see all the people from the wrap around balcony halls doing their thing.

I remember at I think Otakon this year, forgot I just remember Pokemon Go was popular at the time but people would just scream their team names at each other and would start random crowds of people chanting their team names while rivaling teams would shout their team names back, it was hilarious and kinda fun

So this reminds me of something that happened to me at Tokyo In Tulsa 2011. Me and my friend and her mom were staying on the 13th floor of the main con hotel, and it was about 3 in the morning. So we were up after the rave and tired af so we were getting ready to sleep, right?? well we hear the most JOYOUS, FANGIRL scream. So loud. I open the door to see a deadpool cosplayer bouncing up and down with a guy who was dressed up like the old spice guy. I was just like- WOW. funny as hell but it was like...it's three in the morning. we're on the thirteenth floor. WHY

The closest thing I have ever experienced to this was during Matsuricon 2013 (my first con ever). It happened in the food hall, where out of nowhere someone dropped their tray of food, and everybody in the room (and some outside) began applauding (it didn't last too long, and not as loud as the one in this video, but it was still a sight to behold). I felt somewhat bad for the guy who dropped the food, but someone bought them food afterwards. All in all, it was a pretty interesting occurrence that happened within one of my first hours of being in a convention.
@Kay-ov3ld6 жыл бұрын
Lol, was there for that con. But there was another guy at anime Midwest one year who dressed as Shia lebouf in the "just do it" video with a green cardboard strapped to his back. Every time we saw him at the con, he was encompassed by shouts of "JUST DO IT!"

The cheering is pretty cool, but it's so disrespectful to do such thing at NIGHT at a HOTEL. It doesn't matter that you're at a convention, you still need to think before acting. "Oh, it's a convention, let's make sure that no one gets to sleep!".

Personally if I was there and I heard people screaming I would most likely have a panic attack. I have issues with processing sound so I can’t stand loud, loud noises, now I can handle the murmur of a convention, but loud groups (MHA kids), whistling, hollaring, or screaming I will freak tf out

By my calculations, I could have bumped into you twice! The second time was at Cosplay Chess. The first time was here. If I'm not mistaken, my boyfriend and I had just gotten off the skywalk, and we either went towards the dance floor or we took a right at the elevators, but then we went down the walkway that connected the big panel room to the dance floor area. My boyfriend and I were so confused, but I joined in the screaming. It was fun, but I now remember the people who were going to that Pheasant Fest (this was the first year I can remember sharing the convention center with), and... I feel bad. As well as for anyone else that was just there for non-con reasons... Actually, did you have any contact with anyone from Pheasant Fest? Because I know there were dogs and hunters all over the place. You should have a story time to let us know how open or closed or whatever to con-goers. I can tell you that on Saturday, my dad had gone, and he just didn't understand the con. Lol, he just said everyone was hanging around the halls and fooling around--he just didn't get it.

Was M.Bison in the crowd? All I hear is YES! YES! YES!
@Leidern10 жыл бұрын
It's actually a reference to Daniel Bryan, a popular wrestler in the WWE. However, we can thank Botchamania for editing the audio of that -certain episode- by replacing it with Daniel Bryan's famous "YES!" chants. Even so, I'm still amazed at the coincidences between the two. Much like Bison, Daniel Bryan's color scheme for his wrestling attire is red, black and white. As for his signature move, the Running Knee, it is practically an inverted version of Bison's Knee Press. And much like Bison's standing medium kick, Daniel Bryan also uses waist-height kicks against his opponents.

I was unable to attend this awesome event but would still like to leave a comment anyway...... As far as the screaming goes, personally, I don't see a problem with it at all nor do I think anyone at the event should have either, including staff do to the fact that I am sure the hotel was fully booked mainly do to the event, but in the favor of the staff/hotel I guess I can see there point of view do to them not knowing why everyone was screaming, LOL there bad for the confusion. ( I say scream on friends, scream away, there is no foul play here!-)
