I've had a crush on this adorable Spaniard since I was 17 when he was a soloist with the San Francisco Ballet. So fun to interview him formally with his equally adorable boyfriend Ezra Hurwitz, who was in Miami City Ballet for many years and is now a successful commercial and non-profit film director. We talk about Ezra's smooth transition out of the ballet world, Gonzalo's career highlights and injuries, and we even talk about the time I walked out of rehearsal with him! Many memories, all of them bringing lots of laughter.

Cutest. Couple. Ever. Thank you for your wonderful interviews, Megan. It’s incredible to get to know dancers that I’ve admired for so long! Once this awful era is over, I hope that you (or the company) continue these snapshots into company life.

The way Ezra and Gonzalo steals looks at each other while the other one is not looking melts my heart. This is such a fun, entertaining and welcome look at some of the behind the scenes of the ballet world. Thank you Megan!

I found the conversation about age difference so interesting. I recently retired from nursing, and the last few years mostly was surrounded by nurses who were 30 to even 40 years younger! ( I am 64). I really dug it. Felt that we each had something to offer each other. They had energy, and I had experience.

Megan, great interview as always. What I found interesting was the part where you and Gonzalo were talking about age difference between partners and how the younger dancer and the older dancer bring different qualities to the partnership; all I could think of was the magical partnership of Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev, and there was a 19 year age difference.

This is one of the most excellent interviews/ videos I've seen ever. It's so funny! Gonzo is hilarious and paired with Ezra and you, Megan...belly laughs for hours. Thank you for this and for all of these fantastic interviews. They are super personal and intimate - please consider keeping them coming even when (if?) things get back to 'normal'.

Megan, I am finding your interviews to be an intriguing way of staying connected to my adult ballet world. As I teach ballet class on Zoom for young children I find I miss being with and talking to adult dancers...this series of interviews comes darn close. And of course I love NYCB, and know some of you, but have never met Gonzalo Garcia. He is very genuine, and inspiring. Thanks for having Ezra there - I looked up his work and its gorgeous. We are entering Phase IV now in Saratoga Springs, Phase III in NYC, so I hope you have a studio by now. Saratoga has one waiting for you if you need a break from the city. Be well and Thank You for doing this!!

First of all, you need to post the headshot here so we can enjoy! (and Gonzalo collapsing? que nada... beautiful dancing and so gorgeous!) The two of them are so great - it seems like it would be a blast to live with them, or just hang out with them - such characters and so charming, too. Also, I'm appreciating hearing about how it feels to be one of the more veteran dancers and that perspective... I am not a veteran dancer of anything, but have returned to dance seriously after following a very different career for many years and all of my colleagues now are 19, 20, 21 years old and haven't taken more than a decade long break from dancing as I did... and I feel not only the life experience difference, but the difference in physical capacity (of which mine is dwindling, ha). I would love to hear your perspective on finding a place in the dance world when you come to it/return to it older.

First of all I love your interviews, I've watched all of them so far. So, I started watching this interview in the kitchen and boiling some water for tea at the same time, 2 seconds later you go "I think Len(?) started some tea, something is making noise"... I stopped for a minute turning my head between the boiler and the computer and started apologizing. I'm sorry for the noise!

Megan, have you guys tried Ginastica Natural? A fellow Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, Alvaro Romano, teaches it. The movements are similar to yoga, but are designed to improve your overall flexibility and movement skills. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and classical have some crossover.

Megan have been watching your interviews and love them but have a few tips could you do small segments of the dances and the dancer explaining what they do and what the dance means (nycballet vlogs have them) also, perhaps make these interviews a bit shorter LASTLY, but most importantly, ENJOY your baby as much as you have enjoyed your ballet- you can make being an excellent mother a career AND your vlogs could be your side hustle!!!
