I was a dancer in Hamburg, Germany, but coming from Atlanta, I had heard of him when he was first starting out and learning ballet. He studied with my younger sister, and all I ever heard about him was how fun, warm, and endearing he was. His talent was evident from the beginning. I was so happy to hear he became a beautiful, successful dancer. Then equally shocked to hear of his passing. His story is an inspiring one. Let's keep his memory with us always.......

What’s the difference between a releve’ and a susu? Please excuse the spelling. I love your class. Perfect for someone who once danced but hasn’t in a long time and doesn’t need complete instruction on how to do each move only reminders on how to do them correctly. You are a fabulous instructor and dancer. Thank you. Jo

Megan is a terrific interviewer, because when she has a subject who has much to say and says it well - she steps back and gives her space to elaborate. And Dena Abergel is so continuously interesting!

I see you can be at the top of your career, making it into NYC Ballet - and still you have to struggle to be noticed and be chosen for roles. She is great with the children. She teaches them acting, I have seen.

Such a good teacher. Such a beautiful dancer. Love the piano music. It's hard to believe Megan has three children, college degrees, a professional ballet dancer and interview channel. Some people are just so naturally ambitious. She's so intelligent. I just saw her Bella del Regio. So gorgeous.

When I first saw film of Roman I was so excited. I couldn't believe how good he was. He was fantastic in every way. Spectacular jumps. Strong life force. I kept thinking wow this is Paul Mejia's son and he and his wife must feel so incredibly proud. I thought wow he must have had great training early. Paul in interview is so likeable and so pure and Roman is so humble too. I love so much that Roman watches so many performances in the wings or when he finishes his performances. That is such an honorment of other dancers. That total absorption and respect for his art. Roman is such a beautiful name. I love Megan's interviews because I get so much insight when she describes her thoughts and what she goes through. She is a wonderful dancer too (obviously). And I love her appreciation of the history of New York City ballet. How all the early dancers were and their part in creating Balanchine's company. John Clifford has so much to offer in exactly knowing what Balanchine wanted. And it makes a great difference in the way the ballet is performed. Clifford has an incredible memory and just knows so much. I wish N.Y.C.B. would use him in a big way and utilize his great wealth of knowledge. He his alive and well, why not take advantage of this true Balanchine disciple? I wish N.Y.C.B. would use Suzanne Farrell in a big way too. Excellent interview, as usual.

Kathryn's story is a tragic one. Peter Martins was very kind to her. She started off so promisingly - then everything she had was taken from her. Her attitude is truly courageous.

I don't know if these young dancers realize Merrill Ashley, who was coaching them in Aurora, was a major principal with the company and Balanchine created two ballets for her. I have a book she wrote which contains pictures of her doing positions in the correct technique. It's also a very interesting book and one I value.

Is the painful slaughter of an innocent animal funny Joaquin and Meghan? The bull is starved for weeks and enclosed. When the bull is finally let out into the arena the bull thinks that he has finally been set free and that his hunger and isolation is over only to get a very crude awakening. The bull finds himself trapped yet again. The bull has to endure a slow, tortuous, death from stabbing. One bull is cornered by men on mules and a matador. The machismo bullfighter is mascarading as a brave victor but it is a very pathetic thing. If a matador is so brave and courageous, why doesn't he go into the ring by himself unarmed and battle the bull? What a sad commentary that so much of the macho patriarchy of the world renders a perception that it is a big giant act of courageness for a matador to savage a bull and come out as the "victor" when the bull collapses in agony and is bleeding to death in his own blood as the matador arrogantly pumps up his chest for his brave "victory". A "victory" achieved by stabbing a bull dozens and dozens of times to declare the matador's "superiority" over a weak, savaged, dying animal. Bull fighting is archaic. It should be done with and chuckling about it so casually I find offensive. All matadors need to end bullfighting and use their artistry and skill to learn a new trade: ballet or other forms of the dance. Matadors should become dancers. That would take courage.

15:04 SO TRUE!! i’m a dancer and i took ballet for many years, and i did not like it 😭 i always had the build for ballet and my friends always told me that i could be such a good ballet dancer, but i hated it tbh LOL. i honestly found it boring and it wasn’t fast enough for me. i’m definitely more of a hip hop dance and i’m more passionate about that style of dance. but don’t get me wrong, ballet is incredible and breathtaking but it’s just not for me :)
