I too will thank you for a wonderful video. I received the same radio today and watched your video and saved your video because I’m going to use it as a learning tool from my dumb old brain. By that I mean, I’m not as young as I used to be, I see 80 years coming over the horizon. No matter, cause guys like you are out there! Thank You….

Good video. I just bought one of these and I'm blown away with it. Waiting for the data cable in the mail to learn how to use this radio more efficiently. Out of the box it is an impressive radio. Uncluttered but sophisticated with its high end features. Thanks for going through the menus. I just wish the manual in the box had more than 10 pages.

You can set the upper and lower DC voltage limits in software, to prevent it shutting down on 12.25v after you switch off the engine. I run mine on a 14.8v 5Ah LiPo battery.

Dont forget, If you change the frequency while on a certain channel, that channel will remain at that new frequency until you put it back to normal!
@notsure7874
@notsure7874 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this thing doesn't operate like anybody would expect a radio to work. It has 5 "memory" slots, but really the "bands" are banks of 40 memories each, and the "frequency mode" doesn't change you to a VFO mode, it just alters the current channel you're on. I should have saved my money and got a Yaesu FT-891, or an Icom IC-7100 instead. It shouldn't have repeater functions, or FM, or more than 1 channel bank - OR a "frequency" mode really. It's a CB that can't be sold as a CB because of its power levels.

I wish I knew about these radios before I bought two President Johnny IIIs for my Jeeps. I wanted something small and powerful.....but just got small. New Milford, CT. here. Never much CB traffic in this area though. I have an old RCI Ranger RG-99 that I used as a base station in a house with an Antron A-99. But I'm in a condo now and I doubt an indoor antenna would work. The RG-99 is a good radio but the echo and talkback stopped working. Not sure if it's worth sending out for repair. I should probably just sell it.

I've rigged a fan up to the back of mine, it gets ridiculously hot on full power on extended use! I've also just picked up a used Magnum 1 just last week, can't buy them in the UK anymore?! Nice rig but is so under powered compared to the Anytone! Its only 20w on FM and 60w pep on ssb. Shame really as it's a great looking rig with a great sound, it's a little awkward to use though compared to the Anytone. If I had to choose only one, it would be the Anytone. It's a wolf in sheep's clothing!
