Dude, I have a job that requires captions for 95 videos. I've been having this issue with the formatting of "®" on every single one since the client is unhappy with the default size. You just absolutely rescued me. PS Nice Strat

You Ripple guys seriously give us the solutions we asked for and need. Have been questioning myself about a solid solution for this for years, thank you for showing us how! (Hope FCP will catch up with this one day and give us an "in-house-tool" to do this quickly.) Nevertheless I want to open a discussion: What could be the cons of doing this to a youtube video? Do you think some viewers might get irritaed by the burned in subtitles, if they could enable/disable it manually through youtube? Thanks!

Great ! Thanks for those inspiring tips ! My question is how to put a rollup word by word in a subtitle so they come highlighted as they speak one by one, word by word. Is there any app or is it possible to do it in FCP?

You'll need to use something like CapCut to do that

What about in reverse? I was given a task once to amend the subs which happened to be only titles, I did some research and there used to be a plugin to purchase but sadly the developer stopped developing and selling. I fixed the issue by copying and pasting all night (the producer wanted an SRT file) any tips or solutions welcome. The plugin was called XTE by spherico

Check out XML2SRT on the App Store to convert titles to an SRT caption file. Yes FilmTools by Spherico was the go-to for year but they disappeared.

Well, you can disable captions while playing a video, but you can‘t do this with burnt-in titles. Apple should give us the freedom to decide what we‘d like to do. Not everyone needs it for main media use.
