I'd be cool with buying a resin cast set as well as having the templates available in case I buy more tanks in the future and you're not making more - cheers and good luck!

Glad to hear it. :) I'll see what I can do!

well this is going to be useful for me with conversion building a malcador (still need to decide on if i go for a defender or annihilator
@Beyondthetabletop3 жыл бұрын
I now make/sell this as a kit if you don't want the hassle of making one yourself. beyondthetabletop.com/product/internal-sponsons If you're scratch building your own Malcador I'd go for the Defender, or some build where you can swap out the turret to run it as both options.

Superb! The only thing I would have liked to have seen at the end of a video is a complete assembly of the tank with these upgrades on it, just to see the finished piece.
@Beyondthetabletop5 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, the only reason why I couldn't show it in that video is because I cast up the sponsons to be able to make several sets. It took a few months to learn and complete that process. If you'd like to see finished images of the complete tank check out here: beyondthetabletop.com/product/internal-sponsons Where you can also buy the sponsons.

Brilliant work there. I've started planning a conversion of turning a Leman Russ into a Malcador, and I had considered the internal sponsons to be so bothersome that I was just going to use the external ones from the Leman Russ kit. This gives me hope.

If you want, to save the hassle of scratch-building your own, you can buy my kit as a resin cast from here: beyondthetabletop.com/product/internal-sponsons

Interesting idea, and well executed. I've basically been running LRs sponson-less in 8th ed but the aesthetics of this might just draw me back in.
@Beyondthetabletop6 жыл бұрын
That was my main reason for doing it. I've never been a fan of the original design.

This looks better, but I feel like much harder to assemble as a kit if they actually made this.
@Beyondthetabletop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, you can pick up the kit via beyondthetabletop.com/shop/ If GW did make it themselves then the kit would be a lot more complicated to build, but a lot of their new kits are...looking at you Repulsors and Redemptors.

I need some of these in my life! How is production coming along and how can I order some please?
@Beyondthetabletop6 жыл бұрын
Hoping to do pre-orders soon. I've just been redoing the moulds using a pressure chamber as the casting is so much better this way.
@sheepman22446 жыл бұрын
Did these casts ever work? Looking at starting a project some time in the near future and these would be great for it!
@Beyondthetabletop6 жыл бұрын
Yep. I'm just in the process of re-doing all the moulds to work with pressure casting, which is an improved technique. I've done two out of the three moulds so far, with one left to go. You can check out my progress on instagram.com/beyondthetabletop/ as I regularly post updates there.
@sheepman22446 жыл бұрын
Wow looking great! Will they be limited run?
@Beyondthetabletop5 жыл бұрын
Most likely, but it honestly depends on the level of interest.
@tylerdurden1084 жыл бұрын
do you have a link to buy the RIVETS ?
@Beyondthetabletop4 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid not. I just used a Brita Water Filter which I cracked open. Some companies like Green Stuff World sell micro-beads which are similar.
@joemotteram84606 жыл бұрын
these are really nice, how long you reckon till the moulds are sorted?
@Beyondthetabletop6 жыл бұрын
The moulds are all done but the casting quality for the frame is pretty poor. Basically it's too thin and getting lots of air bubbles along the rivets. What I need to do is purchase a pressure chamber and unfortunately the supplier I'm using is out of stock so I have to wait a week or two for them to get it back in.

Have you considered having somebody 3D model the sponsons so you can put them up on Thingiverse?
@Beyondthetabletop5 жыл бұрын
It's not something I've looked into if I'm honest and I'm not sure I know any CAD modellers.
@morik85932 жыл бұрын
Are you selling template of it for 3d printer or even just aize template to scratch build some?
@Beyondthetabletop2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, mine are all scratch built so there's no STL file. I was planning to make templates for people to make their own but instead I learnt how to cast them up and I now sell them here instead: beyondthetabletop.com/shop

Really keen to get my hands on some of these! would it be possible to retrofit your version onto my current leman russ tanks?
@Beyondthetabletop6 жыл бұрын
Do you mean tanks which are built and painted? It might be possible, the main issue is that you need to cut out the outer and inner track sides which will be a lot harder to do if the model is fully built. It should still be possible though but it'll just be tricky.
@blackehartrc3956 жыл бұрын
How goes the casting process on these? I don't see you posting stuff up on the astra militarum facebook page, but suuuuper interested in picking up....6-8 sets of these if you get the process down

What’s the update on these ? Are they being made ?
@Beyondthetabletop6 жыл бұрын
I'm hoping to start casting these up next week, its taken me a while to find the right clay to use to create a two part mould, usually I do the book method which is a 1 part mould cut into two but these parts are too small and fragile to risk doing that.

@thejonsonator6 жыл бұрын
I've seen some FB updates but how is it doing at this moment in time?
@Beyondthetabletop6 жыл бұрын
Having some trouble trying to cast up the frame, as it's the thinnest part of the model and only a few mm thick. I've now got a pressure chamber which should solve the issues with the air bubbles but I now need to re-do the mould.
@thejonsonator6 жыл бұрын
Beyond the Tabletop well I hope it goes well as I'd fancy a couple sets of these. If it doesn't then so be it and I'll have a bash at my own :)

Thanks, it's just a matter of getting the free time to make the moulds, then fingers crossed it all works! :)
