AIB and The Glory are both boring af!!! i don't get the hype at all, they're so overrated. And AIB was overshadowed for a reason, it's a cringefest and I've seen better revenge series from Korea than The Glory.

I am convinced the people who gave this a 7 or lower, watched the dubbed version. I watched in subtitles, but I tried watching the dubbed just to see how it was, and no offense to the voice actors, but they just did not align properly with me. season 1 of this show is an easy 8 at least in its original form.

Re: the rich men sounding like NPCs. It is not uncommon for Korean shows to hire basically anyone for an English speaking role as long as they speak English and are white. Often they have no training or experience and are pretty bad actors. To a Korean audience they won't really think too deep about it bc the actor is fulfilling their role eg. white american man. But to an English speaking audience it can be jarring bc they aren't doing any acting with their voice and thus just sound like AI reading dialogue.

To be fair, it's not 100% the actors' fault. The screenwriters are the ones coming up with the dialog. What sounds alright in Korean might sound like an NPC in English.

Just so you guys know in south Korea every male has to join the military and complete basic training. So most men in Korea can fight or know military stuff, i think the only way you dont have to serve is if you win an Olympic medal. Even the K pop singers have to do military time
