Hyung is very commonly said from any man to another older man, not necessarily if you're close but yeah it does kinda mean older brother I guess in this case it's more the way Ali says it that makes it so heartbreaking Edit: for example Sang Woo calls Gi Hun Hyung most of the time just because Gi Hun is older

Ji-Yeong's story hit me the hardest the first time I watched this. Just from beginning to end, her whole life was just tragic. At least with Ali, you can assume that he had some good times with his family before ending up here. With Ji-Yeong, she didn't really have any of that. Her father abused her and her mother, and then eventually killed her mother. Ji-Yeong ended up in prison for killing her father and after prison, she ended up in a game to the death. Probably felt like what's the point considering she had nothing and no one. What's even more heartbreaking is the fact she met and genuinely bonded with someone she could call friend here...only to then sacrifice herself for her 💔

Doesn’t change his actions. People deal with guilt differently, in terms of Sangwoo he’s spoken about it with the next episode when speaking to the man who lost his wife. He chose to shut down and put it away in those moments to survive, doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel remorse.

Ali had a lot more to live for than Ilnam. Ali was young, had family and was healthy. Ilnam was old, dying and no family (and also evil)

@@IsaLinh but that’s a double standard. A life is a life no matter how old … the point is again, the action. In that case both GiHun and Sangwoo lied and tricked. Morally that’s wrong. y'all so hard on Gi-hun, I think he felt he had no choice and he looked tortured at misleading the old man - but when called on it he cried on the old man's shoulder and clearly felt awful about it, contrast to Sang-woo getting angry at Ali at first and yelling that he cheated. Even when Gi-hun yelled at the old man he was just trying to get him to play, not throwing anything to see if it would stick. the old man even acknowledged that Gi-hun had always treated him right and made the games a fun experience for him, I don't think he had any anger for what Gi-hun did, so it's not the same situation

since many people already recommend alice and borderland + all of us are dead, i will recommend you guys k-drama with a similar genre to those two but a more underrated version! 1. the 8 shows - this one is on netflix too so calling it underrated might be a bit much, but it deserves waaay more hype than they have. it is also about playing a dangerous game, but instead of immediate death, they focus on giving psychological torture as the punishment. it focuses on 8 people only who doing shows for unknown viewers to get money, then it becomes more dangerous as time goes by. it's crazy, it's disgusting, but also an amazing story! 2. duty after school - it's about an alien attack, and the country uses their student as an emergency soldier. the story focuses on one class as a whole. they get sudden military training, can't go home, can't meet their parents, and only have their classmates to survive. personally i love these two more than alice in borderland + all of us are dead, but all 4 are a good shows anyway so it will be perfect if you guys try all of it! 😆

This show is basically a big old take on capitalism and how exploitative the system can be. Ali hurts cause he’s foreign, and he fully trusts and looks up to sang woo(if I had to guess sang woo is one of the first-maybe only people in Korea that’s treated him kindly). And sang woo knows that, so he just takes advantage of his trusting kind nature. I mean truthfully all the deaths hurt and theirs a lot of metaphors in this show, but this one was ROUGH.

I'm one of the few who doesn't really hate Sang-Woo. They all knew what they were getting into when they came back to play. It's a survival game, why would he sacrifice himself for someone else? The only thing making him look worse is that the other two characters' opps had no motivation to live and willingly sacrificed themselves, Sang-woo didn't have that "luxury" and did everything to survive. His only sin was being smarter than Ali lol.
