Superb vid. I have used the "blue stuff", and it is brilliant for casting all sorts of bits. As always, look forward to more soon!!

This reminds me of looking at the white dwarf back in the days when they actually convert one of the Rohan guys with a banner. This is simply awesome!

Really nice work and great presentation of techniques not often shown in detail. (I liked the notched shield - looked like battle damage.)

Very nice tutorial. I have very few actual Royal Guard models in my current ranks I think about 6 total. Currently I am using the more heavily armoured regular riders as stand ins. But am toying with the idea of removing the bed rolls/quivers and the bows from the backs, filling back up with green stuff to give a more pure cloaked back. As for the other details while mixed in they won't be immediately noticeable but will need to be worked on, I have plenty of spare sword and spear arms from the on foot guard to be able to graft weapons on. I might have a mess around with some broken riders before using my good stock.

Should make an update video with the actual Deorwine model, the foot version comes with a separate shield which would make an amazing blue stuff mould, no full mini getting in the way

Does the casting resin not get hot enough to melt the blue molds? I have some similar resin but per the instructions it says it just meets the melting point of the blue stuff. But I'm still tempted to try.
@Zorpazorp5 жыл бұрын
My resin doesn't get too hot but just give it a go, worst case scenario the blue stuff deforms a little bit and you just reset it :)
@simondenelzen4 жыл бұрын
Take a slower curing resin it gets less hot

Hey, where do you get enough spare spears on their own like that?
@Zorpazorp4 жыл бұрын
They come in the Royal Guard on foot box :)
@Dooce944 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! You’ve been such a great help/resource as I’m just getting started in the hobby. Do they come with spare spears or am I gonna have a couple of weaponless royal guards on foot? :’)

I know I'm beyond late with my comment, but I wanted to mention that I have a single point of criticism: the shield on not-Hama's arm should be affixed to the hand, not the forearm. That kind of shield was not strapped to the arm.

Just a heads-up about pronouncing the names of your heroes: The "-wine" in "Folcwine" and "Déorwine" isn't pronounced like the alcoholic beverage, but as two distinct syllables - "Folc-win-eh", "Deor-win-eh". "Wine" (with two syllables) means "friend" in Old English, from which Rohirric is derived. "Déorwine" = "brave friend", "Folcwine" = "Friend of the People (folk)", "Holdwine" = "faithful friend" Just so you know :)
