It took me a long time to find the courage to convert mine as well. Strangely enough it has been one of the easiest ones I have converted and the quickest to start giving new growth. Good luck with yours and would love to hear how it goes.

Thanks for posting this! This has been on my mind. Apparently if you need to bring a plant to Hawaii it can’t have soil but it can be in another substrate. I’m thinking of moving there one day. My fiddle leaf fig is much taller though. I’m afraid it’s gonna be a huge shock but I’m willing to try if it means I can keep it

I defiantly think that the bigger the plant the more stressed it will get. It might not be a bad idea to take a top cutting (6 leaves or so if yours in nice and big) and propagate that in water first. The water prop can easily be moved over to LECA once there is a good root system. Then you have so good insurance before you transition your full plant. I would only do the main fiddle once the prop has successfully rooted and converted. Please let me know how it goes would love to hear you come right.

How has it lasted since you put in Leca?

Where do you buy your clear nursery pots? ☺️ I've been searching everywhere
@JessicaEccleston3 жыл бұрын
I have had to get them at a few different places. Heckers Nursery in Boksburg usually has a small to medium size one. Then the small ones I get at Sunkist Nursery in Benoni. Unfortuently haven't been able to find any bigger ones, think I will need to find these online.

How awesome. I have heard a lot of people love to use the pumice and have had great success with it.

Apparently it’s good to cut roots back every now and then.. probably could have done that here

Who do you recommend watching for additional Leca info? I couldn’t quite catch the name.

Hi Cristina, minimalist cali is fantastic when it comes to Leca.

Lmao how much easier was it to clean the leca from the roots than the soil haha

May I ask which fertilizer you used? Thanks!

Hi Kate, For all my plants in Leca I use General Hydroponics Flora(Mirco, Gro, Bloom) Nutrients. On my soil plants I usually use seagro organic plant food. I will use this for my plants in leca as well once a month. I do dilute it a lot, less than half the suggested amount.
