Hey Skip, can you tell a difference between the ambush and dlt strops? All I’ve ever used is dlt and it’s about worn out

Dlt made the ambush strops but took them to a higher finish and also better quality leather. Both are great options but the ambush is a step up 👍

got a new bark river aurora in and it was not sharp, just got bark river strop with black and green, stroped 5 times on each side, not getting sharp.

If it’s dull dull it will take a long time with the black. It may even need sharpened to bring back a bur and then stropped. Also, are you using the sharpie to guide in holding the correct angle? What is it telling you? If your angle looks good by your sharpie then keep with the black awhile and it will get sharper. Too high of an angle will roll the edge over and too low will not sharpen the apex.

Barley any pressure as well. Your mind wants to tell you to bare down to sharpen but it’s actually counterproductive.
