Starting my comment with a huge birthday wish for Judy the birthday queen who looks absolutely charming with her tiara or without it for that matter. Such a cheerful and heartwarming Christmas scene of communal food prepping, cooking, sampling, table setting and even early gift opening. Lancelot clearly enjoyed his new gift. Thanks to Michael and Nati's hard work I also received an awesome early Christmas present, my Adopt-A-Star certificates and the color photos with brightly shining stars to show the location in each constellation. They'll be framed and proudly displayed. The magic of Christmas is now officially in full swing at my home.

Thank you for sharing all the fun! I sometimes watch Marie's face as she attempts to cook with so many other people in the kitchen, and I can relate. While I love, love, my family and friends, the introverted part of me likes to cook and prep quietly. It's a sort of total sensory overload when taking in all the stuff going in my own head-an ongoing monolog of thoughts-and the external stimuli -I just want to chase everyone out of the kitchen. However, coming from a big family, that is rarely the case, so like Marie, I try to smile and pretend it's all good ;)

It's kind of the hub of the chateau so I doubt little Marie will ever have the kitchen completely to herself😉☺. In that regard, it's like any commercial kitchen... just surrounded by extended family and friends. When you are like me with very little family left, you'd be grateful for their smiling faces again. Marie is young and adaptable... the chateau is made for entertainment and merriment. My husband who is an excellent chef would be in agreement with you, however, ...he likes the kitchen all to himself when possible. ~Tara (kidlydude's wife)

Ah, my olive pitter is one of those things my kitchen couldn't do without! If you like tapenade it's a necessary gadget, and just as good for cherries. Honestly, here it is July and I’m in the sweltering heat of Southern California-and I watch this yearning for the holidays and to share in the festivities at LaLande for Christmas! Think Sir Lancelot was trying to cover himself up with his fur in order to sleep! So cute! Marie certainly is so happy now and just loves her part at the Chateau! She is now at home! What a lovely dinner was being prepared! Love seeing family come for the Holidays! I know we are missing Mummy and Percy and that is hard, but yet understandable. Always hard when not all can come, and yet is does happen to most all of us though! This world is big, and we do move to other parts so often now. So much room in the kitchen and the pantry is organized well. Seems like it is making it nice to work together!

It's still Christmas Eve here in mid-continent America (Oklahoma). But many years ago in the early 70's, I celebrated Christmas in the same time frame as Australia, because my family lived in Djakarta, Indonesia. It was such a unique experience to have warm tropical Christmasses! When you live "below" the equator you're not upside down, but right side up... because it's all a matter of perspective. 😉☺

Hi Philip, I wanted to give you a tip to make your life much easier when it comes to polishing the silver. I was polishing my mother's silverware last year for her 75th birthday. She literally had not used it for decades so it was very tarnished. I wanted to make sure to use the silver for such a special occasion and I already had so many things to do for the dinner. So I went to KZbin to see if there was an easier, quicker way to polish the silver. Well we found out if you add aluminum foil to the bottom of a mid size pot, add two inches of water, add baking soda, let it simmer and just dip in the cutlery for around ten seconds then take out and wipe off the tarnish easily. I was able to do a whole set in less than an hour. I would have to replace the aluminum, water and baking soda about every ten pieces but we were amazed how beautiful they came out and how easy it was. Hope this tip helps, Merry Christmas!!
