You should see the number of engines and empty wagons (cars in US lang) being shipped around during the crises, loads of empty container wagons mixed with loaded ones on regular runs also stored in sidings along the main lines I'm surprised in the US they dont have more details as they still use wooden sleepers (ties) and spikes ? What are the, look like sensors either side of mainline @ 28.56 shot before Fraighliner 66547, 506, 550 and 951 came into view now obscured by the 66's and where was it ? Presumbly most were being moved for service One thing is it possable to add subtitles of where the shots were, what train it was, departure and destination or audio Great video thanks

Because they were being towed dead back to depot by the 66

Also the plan was for a fully electric hub linking from container ports (inland and sea), and HS1 ect to destination like Hams Hsll Fraightliners inland freight terminal This has not been completed for example over head electrification from Reading to Southampton So it is mainly engind by 66's, it's cheaper to run the hole length on diesel than change over to electric on the way. Extra infrastructure costs, engines sitting around waiting for a job, crews ect ext To get round this DRS have brought class 88 which can run on diesel or 25KV overhead lines It's a pity that DC 3rd rail was not included as it would have used the 3rd rail in Southampton to Basingstoke But NR would have to beef up or add substations as HS passenger and freight use a lot of power fro the low voltage DC 3rd rail Theres still Basingstoke to Reading it has concrete sleepers put down in BR days ready for 3rd rail chairs There are plans to 25KV this line as part of the electrified hub when this will happen is in the hands of the gods
