Fiora Emerald if you wanted it crispy you could always take it out, add some dry spices to the skin and put it back in for a a while.

Taking it out and returning it would not render the same kind of crispy skin you get when you roast the bird dry, so no thanks. And for ghsfilet: crispy chicken skin is better than bacon, sex, and donuts. It completely transforms the taste and texture of your meal into something magical. While yes, technically, the only thing a chicken has to be is safe to eat, but flavor and texture are an important part of eating and enjoying your food.

She never implied it would be crispy, and maybe other people like what you don't like. That's all. Other countries eat chicken soup with an entire chicken in it, obviously not crispy, but delicious. Also, you said you were mad at it because it was not crispy, which is why everyone else commented on telling you how to get it crispy. But your "no thanks" comes off as rude. Especially when everyone wanted to help you at least to try to enjoy something like this.

This is actually a really great idea. What else to do with leftover watermelon rind, besides utilizing the water within the fruit to cook a tender chicken! I really don't understand people's negative reaction to this, as you don't need to waste anything (since the watermelon is used to not only hydrate the chicken, but also be the base for the gravy, how is that waste if you're serving it with the meal?) and these are two foods that are cleverly put together in that way exactly. I'm glad you found this, because I'm curious now if this could yield tender turkey or chicken for the holidays.

I've did this camping with a duck. We buried the watermelon in hot coals but wrapped in 2 layers of tinfoil. It sat in there all night and we didn't dig it up till noon the next day. It was awesome!!!!

This is unrelated, but do you think you might be up for creating a prosciutto and melon sushi? Or maybe taking ideas from other cuisines and transforming them into sushi? I just thought of this because of the melon and how in Italy they pair melon with prosciutto sometimes. Now that I think about it, there aren't really any pork based sushi, and that could really be popular.
