I love watching jollof recipes because in America us of the Diaspora have a similar dish we call Red Rice. It’s a direct relation. The main difference is the meat used. We typically use pork (bacon) because that was more readily available. It’s a delicious cook up dish 😚

I have just cooked this for my husbands birthday dinner. The beef... oh my word. Super tasty. I almost ate it all even before i put it in the oven 😂 From this day forth I will nolonger boil n boil n boil my meat till its tender. Unfortunately i over cooked my rice a little 😭. I used our local Zambian rice that has much more starch than the store bought parboiled one. No onion powder either(didnt find it in the supermarket..i used 1white onion) n the color didnt pop. My stock cubes were so dark (they contained msg too 🙊). But super tasty! So yummy Aunty Flo! Madre mia!!!😂😂 love from Lusaka, Zambia ❤

This 5-Ingredient Smoky Party Jollof Rice is out of this world. I love how it turned out. The grilled beef was off the chain too! Its lunch time here and I have been dreaming of my own plate. The presentation of the food with the mixed veggies stir fry is dope. Flo you have turned me into a special food analyst an I can't get the jollof rice out of my mind. Anyway I do like and enjoy your cooking vlogs. I hope to try this on Friday night after work and i will send you feedback. Thank you so much for sharing.

I'm American and I never like Nigerian jollof rich, even though I never ate it before or try it, but just from me looking on KZbin and seeing how others cook it make not to like it more or even think about trying it. because I think the tomato be too much and a don't look like a taste good at all. But from me seeing you cook it now, I think I will learned how to cook it but your way. and I know and believeI if I cook it the same way you cooking it I will Love it. ❤

Flooooo, thank you so much for this recipe! Although I used more than 5 ingredients lol, for the first time, I tried cooking with the aluminum foil, black pepper, adding onion powder to the meat and dry frying it first. And my husband LOVED it. He testified that it tasted different and he loves the taste more than the local party jollof rice! Thank you Flo!

I pour hot boiling water over my rice in a bowl and cover to parboil. I don’t bother to boil on fire. I leave it while I’m frying the stew and it’s parboiled in 10-15 mins. I was always told the secret to good jollof is thyme but you may have proved them wrong 😆. Looks good!

Exactly, we think that some of these ingredients are all important but with this challenge, I learnt that most of them are redundant especially when it comes to seasonings and herbs. Now, I'm curious what the rice would taste like if I have chosen different ingredients and I will sure try different permutations and combinations of 5 ingredients in future preparations.
