This stuff is fantastic and giving me some great ideas to try on a light wind day! Love the back winded ones and gybing w/out the rig flip then turn back the other way for potential wave riding!

I’m finding the flare gybe to be a super good way to turn around in light wind with big gear. Thanks for the tips to practice.

For way too long I would only go windurfing if it was planning weather, I missed soo much. Getting out in light winds and basically playing is sooo underated, a few more things to try next time I'm out in light winds.
@Cookiesports5 ай бұрын
You are one of many many windsurfers who do not go out unless it’s actually really windy! You’re quite right, the light wind exercises are really good fun, and so beneficial for the Highwind skills!

Thanks for the great video. Where I sail we have low to marginal winds most days it's great to know what I can practice that will help build my skills for high wind days.or progress me into more advanced maneuvers. Love your channel and your coaching technique. The hardest part for me is the foot steering. Hard for me to put the weight and power on the front foot without feeling like I'm about to catapult. I've already repaired the nose on two boards due to catapults so I realize I'm very hesitant to shift my weight forward.
@Cookiesports5 ай бұрын
Thanks! Catapult- if you feel you are about to catapult, sheet in harder and deliberately roll the sale further around the front. You will miss the nose completely!

I use Meta quest 2 for watching 360vr windsurfing videos, which are recorded with an insta360 camera. It feels like a real windsurfing session. I hope in future you can deliver such videos too. You explain really good, I learned much from your KZbin channel. Kind regards.

I’ll have a think… not really the show of video I make- might be best for an online coaching session together, or join me out here in Vass!

The hard work and effort you put in these video’s is amazing and fantastic!! I will go to Dakhla again this summer and sometimes there’s this morning with a very light wind. The perfect time to practice!! Love the flair jibe! If you go into the straps in light wind, I assume most of the weight, if not all, is on your mast foot, correct? I will have to try this on my 100 liter board.
@Cookiesports5 ай бұрын
Thanks! Have a great time in Dakhla! And yes, light wind straps- pull down through the boom to stop the Noes spinning up

I would like to do some throw--around-the-rigg move. Not quite sure how to do it though

Hi Cookie, I guess you barely fall into the waters anymore, but as I would try those new maneuvers, I'll drop a couple of times. How would you start over again in these winds? Waterstart might not work - will you just climb up and raise the sail as teached at the very start?
@Cookiesports5 ай бұрын
Yes of course… just up the uphaul- definitely not enough wind to waterstart here!

Been doing things like this for decades when the wind dies and I don’t want to come in yet. Tried every kind of jibe possible with a light, camless sail and a floaty transition board. Not a fan of switch sailing. When would I use that in normal sailing?
@Cookiesports5 ай бұрын
I’m not sure which bit you are referring to by sail switching? Everything in here is directly relatable to Highwind sailing though.

@@1212354a ha ah - "The Waft"- starting at 11:45. This is how you change sides on the boom- in almost every move that involves a switch - all tacks and gybes for example! I link it straight into a gybing exercise showing the "disco" move.
