Yum. One of my favorite soups. I would be right over if I was fixing supper. Smoked sausage with fresh mushrooms, squash, zucchini, and shallots over couscous.

Do you save your leftover bacon Grease? You should it’s good to have on hand to season green beans, cabbage and several other vegetables. I use it everyday to fry eggs and scramble eggs with it.

I have gas stove and when the power is out I use a long lighter or match and light the flame. The knobs are electric but you can still turn them on and light the flame.

after you cook them put in ice cold water right away. i crack them alittle and let them continue soaking that should help

If you store your onions in the fridge, your eyes won't burn when cutting them.

That’s not necessarily true- if using a full knife too it will still release the onion cells into the air and that’s what makes you cry - so sharp knife too!!
