@@naomifukunaga6543 Nah, a high quality steak would depreciate flavor with a sauce. Go to any really high end steak house, and you'll see they keep it very basic. Some salt, pepper, maybe some butter, or a light jus, but it's mostly just the flavor of the steak. You can even look up "best steakhouse" on youtube and youll see, they all keep it extremely basic. Or since you're japanese, search up "kobe beef", and you'll notice its always served very basic, with maybe just salt.

@@rsvt Well to make a point. Firstly, as far as I have seen the video and I saw it twice just to be sure, they were served clean kitchen utensils to make their dishes and serve them. And the judges were using new spoons to eat each dish. If you're talking about spoon-feeding the contestant there is no evidence that they didnt use a new spoon. On the contrary, their reputation and the show's fame entails that they do so. And frankly I dont see anything wrong with being spoon-fed. It only shows that they care about the person. Secondly, these are supposedly the top 5 contestants of the competition, so that level of constructive criticism is only fair, since that level of skill is only expected. And besides, let's be fair the sauces were runny. And even so the judges tasted it. If I were to compare to US, I don't think Joe would have wanted to taste it either, but that's just me. So "garbage collectors" is probably a little too much.

They liked Ha's sauce so much, they wanted her to taste it with the meat. It's meant as an honor. There were maybe a dozen times where a Masterchef US judge had a contestant sample the dish presented. I can count on one hand the number of times it was for an exceptional dish. It's usually a sign of a very bad dish. The two really bad sauces if it was on Masterchef US. Ramsey would take a bite then spit it out and lecture the guy. Joe would dump the bowl in the trashcan. Bad move someone would have to clean the can.

I Really enjoy this show but one stark aspect for me that is missing is...THE RECIPES, I REALLY want to make many of the dishes featuring in the show but I can't find any of the recipes :( coming from Masterchef Australia where almost every recipe is available, I find this super frustrating. This episode is a key example, I really want to make many of the meals and sauces the contestants made but I have no recipes to guide me 😰
